We had a houseboat for a week and had a great time. The marina staff was friendly and helpful. Mid-week the water pump went out but the staff spent a few hours and had it replaced. No other issues. Saw bald eagles, lots of birds, deer and caught catfish, bream and bass.

Closed due to covid. Drive there anyway they are building new locks and it is a huge project. Stop through the little tourist village, Land between the lakes?

We reserved a 54' houseboat 6 weeks in advance and had 10 people coming from different places for the weekend. 2 days before our arrival, the marina manager called to tell us the generator was down and we would not be able to leave the marina. They gave us a pontoon boat to use instead but the houseboat had to stay at the dock on shore power. With such short notice we either had to accept this offer or cancel the entire weeked for everyone so we accepted. Once we were on the boat we listened to the manager make the same speech to other families as they arrived to get on their boats. We also learned that our boat had been out of service for weeks so they new it was down when we made our reservation. The manager said their corporate office forces them to rent the boats out no matter what. We still had a good time but do not assume you are going to get what you paid for when you make a reservation here. Very shady operation.

We have rented houseboats for over 25 years. At one time KDM was a great place to rent a houseboat. Nobody is perfect and with houseboats there are always going to be a few issues. That is a fact. Our last three years with this marina have not been good. We have been sent out with a boat that was not cleaned nor filled with water. That cost us nearly an entire day returning to the marina to get water tanks filled and have the boat cleaned. Upon getting back out on the lake, we discovered that the grill was out of gas too. Last year, one of our guests took the first shower only to realize the septic system was not functioning and water backed up into the shower. We had a service tech on our boat all afternoon. He fixed it but we had to change our plans and stay where we were instead of meeting family on the other side of the lake. This year, we booked a houseboat only to have them cancel on us the day before our scheduled departure because the boat had generator issues. This was our family vacation for the year. The employee who called us acted like it was no big deal. The boat we reserved had issues so we were out of luck. They made no attempt to find us another boat or destination. She finally did weakly apologize after I told her how upset our kids would be. So I soaked in all the bad news and asked if the manager could give me a call. It has been seven days and I have not heard from anyone. I get it. You are busy and you likely don't want to hear what I have to say. Good businesses listen to their long standing, returning customers. I don't know if we will ever be back. For the amount of money you spend on a houseboat at KDM you can rent beach front property in the Gulf of Mexico that is immaculate. You should not be dealing with issues every year, standing in sewer water, or left hanging with a canceled vacation with no reply. Somebody needs to wake up and make some changes if they plan to stay in business. The boats need updated and brought back to a proper level to justify the cost. Get some good employees and take care of them to reduce your turnover. Return calls and listen to your customers so they don't have to post their grievances publicly. That would be a good start.

We rented a ski boat from 9:00am to 5:00 pm. Arrived at the marina at 8:30 so we could check in and receive our ski boat instructions for the day. The marina would not allow registration prior to 9:00. A large crowd was then subjected to waiting for everyone to check in before even receiving their boating instructions. We paid to rent the boat from 9-5, however, we did not actually get on the boat until 9:45. We were told by the crew member that if the boat was not returned by 5:00 pm we would be charged $50 each 15 min we were late. We mentioned they were 45 minutes late giving us the boat and maybe we should be reimbursed for that lost time.... no.
Overall terrible experience with marina, staff and crew. It felt like they had never rented boats to people before. Everyone in the "waiting crowd" said the same thing. We pay a high price to rent and I feel I was cheated out of the full experience I paid for. Would recommend another marina.

In town for fishing tournament. Rented a bass boat to follow team around and fish some. Trolling motor only worked on continual mode and directional arrow did not work so had to try and keep guessing which way your prop was going. Rented different boat next day only to get across lake and trolling motor didn’t work at all. Drove back across lake only for them to consider charging me for gas I used. So got first day boat again. Guess the mechanic didn’t look at it. Their rental prices are also much higher than other area marinas. So paid more and full price for boat that wasn’t fully operable.

Stopped in here for fuel on a slow mid-week day as several dock hands were milling around yacking with each other or playing on their mobile devices with none apparently interested in assisting us.
We tied up at the fuel dock and finally caught the attention of one of the dock hands who came over and began to pump the fuel on board..
I never saw our attendant again and assumed he had taken our fuel purchase ticket inside to the payment register.
I went inside to see what appeared to be some sort of a misunderstanding or argument going on between a customer and the register attendant holding up a line of customers trying to pay for their gift shop purchases or fuel dock charges.
I was not aware that our guests had paid for the fuel and wandered back and forth between the fuel dock and sales register inside, hoping to find our absent dock hand.
When I walked back out to the boat to see if I could find our attendant, I learned from our guests that the bill had been paid and we left without ever seeing a dock attendant again.
I'm not one to complain about dock personnel and regularly tip well but in this case, I was not the least bit satisfied with the inept service and poor customer service attitude.

My husband and I drove to Paducah and visited the Kentucky Dam Marina and Village. This is an immaculately clean area with lots of green space and lots of things to do for people of all ages. It is a full-service marina with a boat store for all the supplies you will need for your adventure here. Restrooms, showers, laundry, pump out station, cable TV, full electric service, wireless internet, courtesy van, and a "no fee" launch ramp. Rentals available including motor, skis, sea doo's, paddle boards and houseboats. Beautiful statues grace the parking area and road. Close to the marina there are executive cottages, cabins, picnic pavilions, lots of benches, picnic shelters, playground with swings, golf course, pro shop, Harbor Lights Restaurant, convention center and meeting rooms. It was a relaxing drive around the area and we certainly will be back to spend more time and enjoy the restaurant.

We made a short visit over a weekend. Rented a ski boat & a tube. Staff was super helpful & the boat clean & in good condition & they got us on our way quickly. The marina itself is large & has a good variety of accessories & food.

Two of us rented a deluxe pontoon for a full day. Employees of the marina are extremely friendly. We paid $375.00 and gas was $90.00 😬 we were able to bring our 60 pound dog, but of course would have been responsible for any damage. We laid towels all over the seats just in case his nails might scratch the leather. Fun day--marina not busy--easy in/out

We have rented a pontoon and now looking for a place to stay. We have 12 people. Any recommendations of somewhere close to the Marina to stay?
We have several lodging options around the marina. We are located within the state park, they have lodging options. We rent houseboats here at the marina, as well.
