Well, we were told to leave after 30 minutes of being there for no damn reason, and we left but I spent $20 for me and my friend to come in and then I spent $20 on two drinks with a good tip for the bartender, and for no reason we were asked to leave because my friend was sitting close to the so-called cash room, sad part is I found a new iPhone on the table and turned it into the bouncer 10 minutes before we were asked to leave I thought I was doing the right thing but apparently I have no idea why we were asked to leave I’m kind of lost for while we were told to leave, I know I’m an old man, but I don’t know why we were pushed out the door for no reason

Blatantly racist/prejudice. My friends and I used to go all the time for the Thursday specials, until we started bringing our guy friend (a black male, we were a group of mostly white females) who was told on multiple occasions that he could not come in because he didn't have belt loops on his shorts, even though several guys with basically the same attire were still let in. He came back the next week, having fixed that problem, and then was told he couldn't come in because of his shirt. Two Keys is know for being frequented by fratty, aggressive guys. They also have a huge blue lives matter flag which, with all that has been happening lately, seems extremely tone deaf.

been there a gillion times. Look, it is the quintessential college bar dating back to and in some ways like the 70s. It's not fancy, its only clean on sunday night. and sometimes staff gets stressed. also sometimes patrons are drunk. and in looking at some of the reviews, you might have to consider the possibility that you were drunk. I cannot say that I have ever seen race or accent affect anybody's treatment. However, if you were wearing a Michigan shirt, yeah you might not get the warm fuzzys as if you were wearing a Kyle Macy UK jersey. I bet walking into essentially the same place in Ann Arbor wearing an Ohio State shirt doesn't exactly get you voted Ms. Congeniality either.
My brother, a comedian, who was for some reason booked opposite senior night for the unforgettable 1992 basketball season got booed for saying he was FROM Danville. Yeah, sometimes some of us are like Philly fans throwing snowballs at Santa Claus. So know what you are gettting, go in and chase a Jaegerbomb with a cheap draft beer, eat some lukewarm hot wings, watch the CATS, and when possible do the atomic dog. The place is what it is. If you don't like it, Tony's is just a few blocks away.

I went to this place to have a few drinks and partake in the goldfish races. Have been a couple times without incident but was in a large, predominately white group.
As soon as I stepped up to a basically empty bar, the bouncer told me I couldn’t be admitted because my shorts didn’t have belt loops. Never mind that two white guys before me were wearing straight up athletic shorts.
Even after pointing it out, I was told I couldn’t enter. The blatant discrimination is disappointing and absurd.

This place is terrible. I was treated horribly for no reason. I will never go back. If you want to be treated with disrespect and humiliation this is the place for you. Good luck.

I had no choice in going to this bar since I was a passenger in a car. I was in town with my wife and friends who were all UK grads reliving their old stomping ground days. This is a hole in the wall college bar with live music, dancing and drinks. We were a mixed group of three couples (Ages 32-55), two from Michigan and one from Tennessee. In ordering the same exact rounds at the bar, the Tennesse party was charged $21 per round while the Michigan parties were charged $41. We didn't realize this fact until we spoke the next morning. This really Pi$#ed us off. I can't imagine ever going back to this bar for any reason, however, if you decide to visit, be be aware that this is the attitude of the bar and the regular practices of their bartenders. And to top it off, their 1990's genre band didn't even know an REM tune.

Hate this place with a passion. A 300 lb bouncer ripped a beer out of my 100 lb female friends hand because it was 6 mins away from closing time and the staff was so insanely concerned about people leaving. For anyone traveling to this place from out of town, know that you are getting the worst of Lexington visiting the "world famous" two keys tavern. In my opinion this bar should only be famous for their overpriced, plastic cup served weak drinks and their insanely rude staff. The debauchery of this bar is unbearable and I only hope that anyone visiting this state does not judge the rest of the city on the unbelievably trashy atmosphere that two keys contributes to the downtown bar scene. Thanks.

Sat down and watched some NCAA tournament with the Cats from UK at Two Keys and had a pleasant time. Waitstaff is polite, thoughtful, and made good suggestions. No kitchen, just drinking but plenty of big screen TV's and Goodfellas pizza at the front door. Well worth the visit!

We went with a group of friends to start an afternoon of tailgating. This place is much bigger than it looks on the outside and has plenty of seating and TVs. They don't serve food but there is Goodfellas Pizza inside so you can order a slice or whole pizza. It wasn't too crowded but it was a fun crowd. We old folks had all the kids wanting to join us for beer pong. If you want to have fun and havent drank out of plastic cups in a while this is the place!
