Getting to know where I live better. Really enjoyed the Old Governors Mansion today. I parked on North Street walked to front door facing North Street. There was a note on front door with instructions to scan the paper and purchase tickets online then call the location when complete. Nice lady met me at the entrance door. There was not a docent available but they had a link for a self tour which was fine with me since I was solo.
Tour took me through each room including both floors with great information.
Spent time reading all the details attached to memorabilia and inserts on self tour. Took lots of pics.
Recommend the visit.

This mansion is a “must see”- built to resemble the White House, it is full of interesting stories. The mansion itself is very well built with unbelievable details. 15 bathrooms- each one different colors and tiles!

Beautiful building both inside and out . Learned a lot about the Governor's of LA. we had a guided tour for $9 p/p well worth it.

A building that dominates the skyline, great example of art deco, inside and out. Impressive lobby, two governmental chambers. You can take the lift to 24th floor, then to 27th, to get out on the viewing deck, affording 360 degrees views across the city. A must-see, must-do in Baton Rouge.

I can remember spending time here as a child, but returning as an adult with my friends from Italy was a real treat! They absolutely loved it. The museum is informative, and the interior aesthetic is amazing. If you are a backyard tourist, or an international traveler, this is a must in the Baton Rouge area.

Appreciated visiting this site, especially after touring the current capital building. The displays regarding Huey Long were somewhat a repeat for us after having toured the Capital Park Museum. Loved visiting the chambers and the gift shop is very nice. The grounds are also very pretty.
