The trail was very easy as well as family friendly and the trees very interesting as well as the turtle display . The price for two seniors 5.25 Spent little overhead an hour on our walk . Enjoyed it

I guess I’m a swamp rat as I’ve been to a number of them over the years. This one is not as scenic as some (Sky Lake WMA in Mississippi, for example). I did not walk all the trails so I can’t say for certain there a no giant cypress, but the biggest I saw looked to be about 4 feet in diameter. I have a good sense of direction and even though trails were marked, they didn’t seem to correspond well to the map provided. There seemed to be branch trails that were not on the map so I had a bit of a challenge navigating. Lots of vines and woody shrubs among the trees. Even so, it’s was a pleasure to be outdoors. There were lots of families and couples. There’s a big education center so this is probably a great outing for children.

This was a nice surprise in the city. Great boardwalks and good paths. The trails are short but long enough for a visit to the swamp. We could here frogs and did see turtles. The insects made a great sound. Only one mosquito bothered us.

Had an hour and went to swamp. Took the outer loop around that was approximately 1/2 mile. Lots of nature, chores, birds and water. Nature center was informative with quite a few animals and reptiles to see.

Beautiful day and on my own for the day. Took a leisurely walk through the Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center. My cost was $3 and I totally enjoyed my walk. The path I took was approx 1.5 miles. Lots of places to sit and rest. Mostly squirrels and lizards along the path. Water levels were very low so creeks were mostly dry and that was fine with me. Path is mostly covered with pebbles or wooden planks not extremely crowded lots of couples or small families.
Inside is a small gift shop and displays with live snakes and turtles.

I always enjoy seeing the creatures they have at this center as well as the creatures we can see along the trails. The whole place is well maintained and they've added new buildings for learning. They often have various events like art contests that they then display the entrants and allow people to vote on.

I enjoyed my walk through the swamp area, but I was disappointed that I hardly saw any wildlife. The nature center was nothing special.

Such a gem in the middle of the city. We had a great walk through nature's wondereful enjoying birds, critters and different trees and plants. The trail/boardwalk was well maintained. The nature center had some beautiful art pieces and many critters to see up close. A great place for young children. The staff were delightful and quite helpful. Be sure to take this in if you are in the area.

The large crowd of turtles in the entry area was awesome, as was the butterfly meadow. Well maintained brief but quality nature hike in the middle of the city. Thanks for being there!

Anytime you're in a wetlands area you should protect yourself from mosquitoes. That is probably the most dangerous threat in any swamp.

No it isn't dog friendly and they have a few days per year ( if I remember correctly) of allowing dogs or pets. There are several other parks in the BREC system which are dog friendly, and they're very nearby Bluebonnet Swamp. In order to walk the trails completely, your path will always lead you into the nature center at some point.
Knowledgeable staff and guided tours are a common occurrence and that would be extremely disruptive with dogs present. It's full of wildlife if you know where to look or what to listen for.
