This is a most do in Baton Rough. It is free for veterans and their family (Nice of you). The staff could not be more helpful and nice.
It is very well put together. Parking is a little difficult.

It is a very nice museum, though it is small. The location is fantastic, right on the river bank. Definitely see the mummy exhibit. The was it is organized is wonderful and gives a feel of going in a Pyramid. I will recommend people to walk outside on the river bank as well, but on a cool day. There is a planetarium as well.

We enjoyed the museum. All the staff members were so nice. It was a slow day and they were nice enough to show us an unscheduled imax movie. So grateful.
The building is well kept and I enjoyed our visit. Nice views of the river from the upper floor.

The museum is smaller than expected but it does showcase a few beautiful pieces. The planetarium provides a short movie for smaller kids to enjoy. Small gift shop for souvenirs. It's a nice outing for kids.

We didn’t care for this one. Maybe it was the particular exhibits, but for such a large museum, there wasn’t much to see. The particular exhibits (sound and color) we saw we very poor quality. There were a lot of hands on activities for children which we do not have.

This is an excellent museum with lots of interesting exhibits. Well displayed in a very professional atmosphere. Courteous helpful staff. Worth checking out. Recommend taking the time to check this place out.

Our day started with clouds and did turn to raindrops so when that happened we decided to stay on the Riverfront and visit the Irene Pennington Planetarium in the Art and Science Museum. We were there in time for the 2PM show about the Apollo. We had missed the official 50th anniversary activities so this was a good celebration of accomplishment for us. It was a big WOW to see the documentary, including the moon landing and subsequent walk on the moon,in the planetarium rather than on TV. There is also a small interactive exhibit area before you go up to the planetarium. Staff were very welcoming. We did not see the art exhibits, but you might want to save time for that depending on your interests.

Some nice things in the museum and in general had fun. Really was disappointed in the actual planetarium. It was Dino weekend so very geared to young kids. Wanted our older ones to learn things in the planetarium and felt it was a lost opportunity. Would have liked to learn things from Hubble for example. Lots of opportunity that I felt was missed. But the exhibits were interesting and enjoyed the hands on exhibits.

Worth paying admission alone for the recent Vivian Maier exhibition - a great overview of her street photography. I did not explore the other areas of the museum but seems like an interesting place.
