We had a great morning with Jimmy as our guide. The boat was narrow enough to get us into some beautiful areas, including the bird sanctuary. We even saw a mama gator nest with all her babies. So glad we did this tour!

I booked a private boat tour at sunset, and it was worth every penny. Our boat driver was very knowledgeable and took great pains to point out the different birds, and to spot other interesting sights including a turtle and an alligator. The sunset takes a while to develop after the sun goes down, but its worth waiting for. The swamp is truly magical.

"We moved to Breaux Bridge a few years ago. We take all our guests here. We’ve been on the tour a dozen times now. It’s always fun no matter the time of year. The alligators are great but just being under the beautiful cypress trees is a nice dose of nature therapy."

Oh come on folks!
I grew up in New Orleans. I went to school at LSU, Baton Rouge. I have taken people on many a swamp tour but never on Lake Martin.
I do not know about the other tour operators on this lake but this is like shooting fish in a barrel. Our guide took my group of 10 around the swamp and after the 30th gator some were saying “he was a bit small”. We saw at least 20 more.
Plus the vegetation and the birds we saw made this hour a remarkable one. The photos I uploaded are just from a phone, so no fancy camera here. They might not show all the detail we saw on our tour.
Highly recommend! Yes there are toilets which were helpful. Yes there is a picnic table under the huge oak tree which we also made ample use of. Yes we booked ahead using their website and yes that was simple and easy to do.
If you are in the neighborhood of Lafayette or visiting the Tabasco factory then I highly recommend a pass by this place. We toured at 3pm in late October. And yes, it was unusually warm but the reptiles were out sunning as expected. Top experience.

This swamp tour was way better than what we expected! We went on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at 3:00 and our guide was phenomenal! He knew everything there is to know about the swamp and the wildlife there. We saw so many gators, birds, and even turtles. This was by far one of the most exhilarating experiences of my life!

This swamptour was amazing! The nature, the birds and the alligators, it was stunning! Champagne have great boats, Nice guides, and everybody is provided with the best view. I highly recommend a tour with their company.

The owners were so helpful in answering questions when we were planning our trip and it was a wonderful experience. Jason was an excellent guide, very knowledgeable and we saw lots of different animals, birds and plants. The lake is just beautiful and we would highly recommend the tour

Bonjour, j’ai fait réserver par mon voyagiste quelques mois plus tôt, donc je n’ai rien eu à faire. Par contre, comme l’évoque Martin J, vous pouvez aller sur place la structure dispose de plusieurs barges. Nous étions 9 lors de notre visité.

We will be there Saturday for the 5 pm tour. Do you recommend wearing long pants? We are assuming lots of bugs in the swamps.

One thing that we learned is that there are no mosquitoes on the swamp due to tannic acids released by all the trees decomposing in the water. It will not be an issue. Enjoy!

Sorry, it's late July and I'm answering. I'm not sure season wise which is the best. However, I'd take sweat and cold to go back to do this adventure

I called the day before to make sure the boats weren't already booked. Also check to see if high water has affected the tours. Allen led the tour I was on and he was so knowledgeable. ....made learning fun for the kids aboard. Dont forget to eat at LeCafe in Breau Bridge a short drive away. Some of the BEST fried shrimp I have ever eaten!!!!
