I booked Capt. John for a speck/red trip for my son and I the last week of May. Oh man the fishing was tough that week on Grand Isle! The weather has stirred everything up and everyone was working hard for every fish. To say Capt. John saved our trip is understating it. Capt. John put us on some fish! Very patient with my son who was fishing saltwater for his first time. Also an outstanding communicator, keeping us informed with the how, what, where, and why's during the trip. By all means I recommend giving Capt. John a call and booking a charter with him!

My step-son and I booked Capt. John Chauvin (Fin-tastic Charters) for the three day 2018 Caminada Redfish Rodeo. We caught over 50 Bull reds during the rodeo and my step-son, Allan Franks, placed in the money for the rodeo.
Capt. John knew exactly where the bull reds were and carried different baits to suit the bull reds’ appetites. He also knew the tides and how fish react to tides, and seemed very knowledgeable of the fishing areas and the types of fish in the areas, including the dolphins that played around us. We launched at 6:00am the first two days and 5:30am the last day. We were soon wrestling them in each day
Capt. John was very accommodating, friendly and entertaining. His boat is a nicely designed, comfortable and well equipped, center console with a 300 Horsepower 4 stroke. We were able to get Capt. John’s prime fishing spot and ready to fish quickly.
He even took the time to teach me how to correctly tie an easy Snell knot.
Although we may go down to Grand Isle again before next year and book with Capt. John, we will definitely try to get Capt. John for the 2019 Caminada Redfish Rodeo!

We took 2 boys fishing with Capt John.... truly Awesome! Our boys are 12 years old and John did a fantastic job working with them, making it a fun trip, and had us in non-stop action!
If you are fishing in Grand Isle... you must call Capt John!

I booked a fishing trip with Capt. John as a family vacation adventure and it was one of the top experiences we have had. He is very knowledgeable of the surrounding areas and the types of fish and other wildlife that made the trip so interesting. Throughout the trip he was more than accommodating and friendly that it made our trip so relaxing. He knew exactly where to go to catch fish and we were extremely satisfied in our decision to fish with Capt. John's Fin-tastic charters. We will definitely be fishing Capt. John again in the future!

We have so much fun on the trips we take with Capt. John. He takes all the work out of fishing and puts all the fun in it. He works hard to put us on the fish. I love to catch fish but it's also important to me to be on the water early enough to catch the sunrise. Capt. John always has the boat on the water and everything ready for us to just step on the boat and go! Capt John keeps me laughing. If you looking for a good trip with a great Captain you will love Capt John's Fin-tastic Charters.

Captain John took my friends and I out to fish and it was one of the funnest times I have ever had! I'm not the best when it comes to fishing, but Captain John was there for every question I had and helped me out the whole time. He was so kind and he has surely made a lasting impression. The whole experience was so much fun and I cannot wait to do it again.
