Overall, not worth paying to get in. As a school museum, it should be free. But they did have an interesting temporary exhibition the day I went.

It was an ok museum. The art really wasn't what I like, but someone else might. The exhibit focused on light effects.

The shows here are small but World Class. I was blown away that such a small museum was able to get such amazing work.

This is a contemporary art museum, both the building and the art. When we visited, they were featuring a well-known artist from Los Angeles. The exhibit was beautifully curated and displayed. For some reason we never expected such a sophisticated level of art and architecture in a town in the deep south. Travel sure enlightens you.

On the final day of a week's visit to the area, we decided to head in to enjoy this museum's offerings. We had read their website boasting of a wide assortment of items. When we got there, we were sorely disappointed. There were three exhibits going on with a very limited scope. It didn't at all match up to the described depth of pieces. Puzzled, we asked one of the docents about this. He explained that the majority of pieces are archived in another place. It would have been better to set the expectation more clearly on their website. Disappointed.

I've been visiting Lafayette several times a year for the last 10 years or so, and it finally occurred to me to go check out this museum - I wish it'd occurred to me 10 years ago! This is a really phenomenal, relatively small museum with three gallery spaces (two downstairs and one upstairs) and a terrific gift shop. If you're looking for Louisiana-themed gifts, their gift shop is a terrific place to pick some up. Looking forward to returning to this museum when the exhibits change.

You wouldn't expect such world class art in Lafayette, but you'll find it here. Always new an interesting exhibits from local, national and world renown artists. A "must visit" when in Lafayette.

We happened to visit on a special Children’s activities day so admission was free! Otherwise, it is $5 for adults. The museum is small and had contemporary art on display. Not really our taste so we were glad it was free! Has a small gift shop with friendly staff.
