For baby boomers, this theater is a trip back in time! Plush red velvet seats and a huge chandelier bring back memories of Saturday westerns. The theater has been restored to its former glory and is the epicenter of a thriving arts community. See the website for upcoming performances. We moved to Ruston from Houston and continue to be awed by the talent presented by the local community theater, the Dixie performing arts series, and various community groups.

I loved seeing the old Dixie movie house...looked just as nice as it was in the 60's. and the lobby houses the temporary home of the Wible Family Quilts- a fine collection of quilts. We enjoyed every minute. I even explored the balcony! Beautiful with a huge chandelier over sea the entire movie house. I don't think they show the movies anymore, but have theatrical plays now, a community event, held regularly.

Nice Venue with local support. All the people were so friendly and the building was celebrating their 10th year restoration. Great book of the local history of the Peach Festival. And the musicians were students and local people. Very nice
