Terrible experience. No staff turned up for large booking. 50+ kids left disappointed. Paid for in advance. Uncontactable at the time.

Even fun on a rainy day, just go dressed for it. The activities are also less busy in the rain and there is always the play barn for shelter. Lovely, smiley young staff with a nice manner with young children.

WOW what a day out! So much fun for my little humans! So many adventures for them to explore - Maize Maze, sandpit, indoor & outdoor play areas, water balloons etc.
If you are looking for somewhere to keep the kiddies entertained for hours then head to Brimstage Maze!! Thanks for having us - the kiddies can't wait to come back!

Absolutely appalling, over crowded and understaffed meaning half the activities weren’t supervised and were dangerously over run with children. Not to mention the false advertising! ‘Mini golf’ it had polo mallets and basket balls! On a course of ripped and uneven Astroturf which already poses a danger never mind the metal buckets as ‘holes’ that were split open and broken with sharp edges that could of easily cut a child’s hand open! And the ‘go karts’ there pedal trikes at best not a go kart like it states on the website and the barrel train wasn’t even running at all during our visit. For the amount of money we have had to spend for 3 adults and a child to go I expect a lot better! The free car packing is dangerous it’s a filthy field covered in boggy water and mud that cars can easily get stuck in and there wasn’t even a member of staff in the car park to assist with people parking. The fact that the adult pass is just as expensive as the kids pass is laughable cause the adults can’t even join in and do most of the things. it’s a rip off the adult pass should be cheaper as your limited to what you can even do.

I had my son's 4th birthday party here today. Previous visits have been wonderful, so I genuinely am astounded at any negative reviews..Communication was excellent from the very start and in my son's words it was "the best day ever". Thanks to Jo, Georgia and all the rest of the staff for making a little boys 4th birthday party amazing with all of his little friends. Beautiful and fun venue which I absolutely cannot fault. Thank you.

Visited here with two grandsons and sister with her grandson. on the 24th September. It was tipping down with rain when we got there so the boys played in the soft play area. When it stopped raining we went to explore the rest of the site. youngsters looking after the place and no one at any of the amenities to show us how things worked ie lazer guns etc. I did ask fir help but none was forthcoming. The youngsters looking after the place were too busy playing with water guns with each other 🙁. I paid £24 fir the two grandsons and was very disappointed with what we got. I’ve raised numerous emails and contacts with the site In order to get some feedback from them but no one has returned my messages. My sister however complained as well and.had had her payment refunded. This is not the way to run an activity centre and I would warn all future customers to be wary of visiting.

I visited yesterday with two young children (6 and 4). We live nearby and visit every so often. My wife had bought a pass at the start of the summer holidays for £17.50pp for 5 trips, so that works out at £3.50pp.
My wife would argue that for £3.50pp you can't really complain about anything, but I beg to differ. A sunny day in a rural setting with happy kids running around gives a nice façade and I will admit that on the face of it you get a lot for your money, but what I find frustrating is that it could be so much better. My gripes are thus:
1. The toilets - a common complaint looking at a few of the other reviews. It seems to be nigh on impossible to find a shared toilet anywhere in this country that isn't some degree of disgusting, so Brimstage Maze isn't alone in having this problem and as a grown man I expect the toilets I use to be horrible, but I feel so sorry for my 4 year old daughter who has to sit on the things.
Yesterday we went to the toilet early on before they got too bad, but even then they were pretty horrible. The toilet we used had not been flushed by the previous person because the flush didn't work properly. This was an issue for my daughter and I had to vigorously pump the handle for a good 5 seconds to get it to eventually flush. Unfortunately, once my daughter had finished, the cistern was filling back up at a snail's pace, so unfortunately we had to leave it for the next poor soul (she'd only done a no.1 so I didn't feel too guilty about this). God knows what state that particular toilet was in at the end of the day.
2. The Karts - The actual karts themselves are great machines, but:
a) The set up is terrible. There is no member of staff in attendance and when it gets busy you'll find children staying on them for long periods of time, sometimes swapping with their friends so other waiting children don't get a go.
b) There is no obvious queueing system so children wait around and whoever gets the next go is the child who can run the fastest to the next vacant kart.
c) The design of the 'track' is basically an L-shaped piece of wasteland. There is no obvious track so children end up crashing into each other. Also, at the far end, which is out-of-sight from waiting parents, there is just enough space to turn around if you get right over to one side and then put on maximum steering lock. Unfortunately, many children don't realise this and just get stuck. Yesterday at one point all the karts disappeared until I realised they had all piled up at the far end. I went down there and had to sort them all out. Also, at the far end, there are thorn bushes and one protruding stem caught my daughter's neck, which resulted in tears.
To improve this they need to redesign the area - just make it a big oval with an obvious direction of travel which can be fully seen by waiting parents. Have a staff member monitoring and have a queuing system. And during busy times restrict children to X number of minutes.
3. Crazy Maizy Golf, or as I call it, Bucket Ball - you're supposed to take a stick with a welly stuck on the end and use that as a golf club to hit a small basketball into a hole, but:
a) The holes themselves aren't well designed. There's no possibility of getting a hole-in-one and many of the holes are up 45 degree inclines and you don't want the ball to roll all the way down again when you inevitably miss so you just end up repeatedly kicking it when it's on the way down until it goes in.
b) The balls used are mini basketballs. These are quite hard and heavy and more appropriate balls could be used.
c) There are only so many balls and during busy periods there can be a long wait - why not just have more balls?
d) There is a staff member here but I can't work out what their job is. Yesterday the girl told us where to tee off, but that's quite obvious anyway.
e) No scorecards are given out like you might get at other places that have mini-golf.
f) Some holes have obvious tee-offs, but others don't.
4. The Soft-Play - Not too bad, but it's very dark in the barn. The football area is particularly dark and there were only two usable balls. There were several other balls lying around with punctures. Why doesn't someone just throw them away? The football area could also use a good vacuum.
5. Zip Wires - Again, not too bad, but no staff members around. One of the lines was not working and putting up an 'out of order' sign would have been a good idea to stop every new child trying to use it because it was the only one free.
6. Maze itself - we went into the 'small' maze and I was expecting something the size of a couple of tennis courts maybe, but it seemed to go on for miles. After 10 minutes we turned around and retraced our steps out again. More information on how big the maze, how far you might have to walk, how long it might take would be useful.
7. Football shooting - at the end of the zip wires is a dilapidated area for target shooting with footballs. It's basically kick an underinflated ball at some rotten wood. Great fun.
I don't want to have an unfair go at the place, but it seems obvious that the people who own it don't really care about it. I don't blame the staff either who are all young kids and pleasant enough. It could be so much better with a little more thought into things. If you compare it to somewhere like Cheshire Ice Cream Farm, which is really well run, there's no comparison.

We came last year and had the most amazing day, it went straight back on our list of just dos for the next summer holidays.
But, we were very disappointed this year. The toilets were in an atrocious state, last years portaloos were in better condition.
The gem mining has now gone, this was a huge hit for us, as has the rubber duck racing; and it’s a shame it has now been replaced with more water balloon stations.
Also, a huge huge loss is the woodland magical walk with the lovely signs and fairy doors etc, this was one of our main reasons to return.

Amazing place to take the kids. We spent about 5 hours here, the price is amazing and includes everything except food & drinks. The staff were lovely and there's so much to do! Only shame about our trip was a parent not watching their child and telling him right to wrong. But apart from that it was the best day.

We've been coming to Brimstage maze ever since our kids were little and even held thier birthday parties there. This is the first year we've been disappointed and there was a lot to complain about.
Firstly the toilets (supposedly improved) were wholly inadequate and filthy with dodgy locks. They used to have staff manning each station eg person making sure the big kids keep off the small bouncy pillow, but this time it was a free for all. Nobody was supervising the go carts so kids were pulling the seats off and queue was long as some kids hogged them. The girl on the lazers was absolutely useless... She stood there like a ghost not even helping the youngest kids put the things on! Again no monitoring of time so the queue was long as kids stayed in for ages. The crazy golf seemed like a fun idea, but there were not enough balls or wellies and the wellies were too heavy for kids to use because of what they had used to fill them!
Having said all this the staff on the main reception and the maze were fab and the kids still had a great day.
I just think the management need to provide MORE adequately trained staff, not just clueless kids! I would dread to think what would happen if there was a medical emergency or lost child... The staff wouldn't have had a clue!
