Pretty lake with hiking trails. Spent several hours wandering the trails and around the lake. Could have spent the whole day.

Great place for all your outdoor activities!! You can swim, hike, lay on the beach, barbecue, fish (my favorite), or just have a relaxing day with the family!!

Come swim, fish, or kayak amongst the natural beauty and clean waters. A nice sandy beach with plenty of picnic tables scattered around the park. Natural beauty at its best.

White my wife was busy at her workshop I hiked and swam a bit. The water was beautiful, cool and clean. The hiking was rocky and a bit uphill. I'm not a hiker but more of a walker. There are two sides of the park. The hiking trails on the west side could use some new trail markings, as I lost the trails a few times.
Staff was very nice. Swimming and facility use costs $6 per day hiking free

Lake George is a great place to hang out with your family, friends, or by yourself! The water is clean and the beach is perfect! There is so much room there that even if there are alot of people, it never feels over crowded! The walking trails are groomed nicely! Fun place to spend an afternoon!

We were visiting Skowhegen for work along with our 7 month old daughter during some warm summer weather and wanted to find something fun for our day off - she loves the water, so we gave Lake George a try. The west side has a small rocky beach area that was not very crowded and quiet, but we choose the east side for the sandy beach and shallow water - perfect for wading with a little one. The water was lovely, the scenery beautiful and since it was midweek when we were there, it wasn't too crowded. It did cost $6 per adult to use the beach.

The trails at Lake George that run to the Canaan School are a blast to snowshoe on. Some are set aside just for snowshoeing. They are quiet and away from the smells of the snowmobiles. You have great views of the forest. You can do an out and back hike or leave one car at the school and do a one way hike.
Jeff McCabe has done a wonderful job up grading the trails and actually the whole park. What a wonderful place to enjoy the woods of Canaan Maine!!

Lake was beautiful, staff were rude, tried telling them they need to update web page, no prices, nothing about no pets. Then the ranger was rude. I asked where we were to take our trash , he said with you, so I replied then you need to fix your potholes, there are tons of them. He just acted like he hated his job. Price is reasonable, $5 per adult .

On our way driving from NH to Lubec, Maine, we wanted a place to stop and eat a picnic lunch and stretch our legs. Lake George Regional Park was a good fit for our needs. We ate our lunch on the "island", overlooking the lake -- quiet and peaceful. We then decided to take a short hike on the shore trail, if you call it a trail. There were occasional ties on the trees to let you know that you were going in the right direction, but it was not a trail in any sense of the word -- very rocky and full of roots. Looked like not many people had hiked there recently. Also, beware of the abundance of poison ivy along the trail!

The management is completely unable to understand that it is wrong to provide incorrect prices on their website for pass and day use rates. This is called bait & switch. Such a poor area deserves honest attractions for its people and visitors. At least the lake is beautiful. If you use goggles you might be able to spot freshwater sponges and bryozoans(a freshwater polyp species somewhat like sea anemones).
