Noticed last time I was there, the bread had definitely changed from when the bakery first opened several years ago. It used to be wonderfully rustic looking and you could buy it whole or sliced. Tried almost all the flavors from blueberry raspberry lemonade to chocolate. Had a thick crispy sweet coating on the crust, nice strong flavor, and lots of fruit and nuts. Now they look like they came off a factory assembly line. They're pre-sliced, seem to have less flavor and fruit and nuts , and almost no crispy coating on the crust.

This is a local favorite. Stopped here recently to grab lunch. The restaurant and staff are lovely. I ordered the special squash soup and grill cheese. While the presentation of the soup was gorgeous, it was just super sweet, and I could not eat more than a few bites. The grill cheese was a little disappointing. I feel bad to rag on this local favorite. Maybe next time I’ll try the pizza. The only problem is there are no individual pizzas. For two people traveling we just couldn’t eat that much and had no place to store the extras.

OMG the breads! So hard to decide what to get with all the fresh baked breads. All the breads only have a handful of ingredients and the ingredients are all words you can pronounce! I settled on the cranberry walnut bread and the loaf didn’t last long. It’s a good thing I live in Chicago and won’t be back to the bakery til October as my waist and hips wouldn’t like it if I ate a loaf of bread as fast as I ate this one. Absolutely delicious and with normal ingredients and no preservatives!

I first ate here about 6 years ago when I was interviewing for a job in the York, Maine area and was brought here to eat. It was easy to remember the name of the restaurant and I remember loving the food, if not exactly what I ordered. Was excited to take my wife here for dinner on our trip up the Maine coast. The restaurant was a lot more crowded than on my previous visit (probably due to it being a Friday night and the fact that others love this place as much as I do). We opted to share the bruschetta appetizer and the buffalo chicken pizza. Both were fantastic and served quickly after ordering. We visited the attached shop next door and bought some mustard to take home. Sadly, we are not flying home for another week and had to pass on all the breads that looked so fantastic. Hopefully we will be back but if not, this will always be a favorite eating memory.

We did not eat at the restaurant but did visit the bakery. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of bread flavors also the size of the donuts! They are baked and not fried but are delicious and the prices are reasonable too!

Outstanding bread. The bread store is next to the restaurant, we brought some home. Sandwiches were big, we only ate half there. Very good fries. It was a sunny, warm day so we sat outside. Attentive service.

After eating next door we stopped by to pick up some breads and treats for when we got home. The breads are outstanding and they have upwards of 25 choices. The banana walnut, A+! We also got a handful of cookies, some of which were okay, some of which were good - the cookies not nearly as good as the breads though!

This is a really cute place. We had friendly service and the bread is really yummy. We even went back to get more to bring home with us. We didn’t try the pizza but seems very popular

This bakery offers many bread options and is a very popular destination. The breads are very reasonably priced and come in many varieties. We bought 2 loaves--one was cinammon-raisin and the other was chocolate. Samples are available to help you decide what type of bread you want to purchase. Nevertheless, you can't go wrong buying any of the bread here. It is delicious.

Our yearly stop here was today. Everyone needs to stop here when in the area. The breads are excellent! It’s so hard to decide what to buy. The staff is always helpful & friendly & they even give a 10% discount to Veterans. We have never stopped for pizza but one of these days we will. You won’t be disappointed if you stop. They also sell flavored olive oils, dips, candy & pretzels. They give free samples of the breads that are for sale which helps you decide which one to buy.
