Horrified to find the country club beach off the lake was absolutely filled with dog droppings everywhere. Children play in the sand and water and are only an inch away from stepping into a land mine. They should ban dogs from the area. They should also get people to clean the beach area up. There was a reserved party so the crew members should have known ahead of time about the feces all over the shore.

Definitely a golf corse trying to push out the public play - $150 dollars to play ! HAHAHA I’ve played some of the best corses in South Carolina , Arizona and in Vegas!! That might and are worthy of that cost , but not many !!! After a brain storm board meeting ,they voted and believe this corse is worthy of charging $150 for a round of golf and a cart !!! ((DEFINITELY NOT ))They are Definitely thinking they are better than they really are ….! With there -poor yardage markings, poor tee boxes, fair greens ,wide open fairways, no cart lady with drinks and food , no trash cans , no hole descriptions or probably markings , JUST NOT WORTH $150. It’s more like $$80/$90 dollars … They will get their wish and definitely push away the loyal public that played there …. SAD DAYS.

I played Augusta CC prior to a wedding for one of my friends. They were able to accommodate 12 of us playing back to back and allowed for us to do sort of a shotgun start so that we did not take all day to do it. The course is well taken care of, has good variety and it seems like they must do consistent improvements to make members happy. I did not check out the Club house for food so I cannot speak there. We were a little surprised by the lack of rentals and they only have brand new balls so make sure you bring enough or be prepared to pay full price rather then being able to grab some used balls.
I only rated this course as a 4 because my 5 star standard in Maine is Boothbay and Sunday River..

great place to golf and the food is very very good . Everyone is nice and helpful the course is always in good cond.

All year round opportunity to share fun with the family from swimming, golfing, dining and sledding in the winter. The Augusta Country Club also offers special rentals for social gatherings such as my wedding reception, community receptions and private and business venues. Love the service, quality of food and beautiful location.

We held our wedding at the Augusta Country Club on 7-3-2016 and our experience could not have been better. The event coordinator, Tina, had worked with me all year planning the event, and she was there through the entire weekend to ensure the event went smoothly.
The grounds at the country club are stunning, a hidden gem near Augusta. The nicely manicured golf course leads down to a beach on the shores of beautiful Lake Cobbosseecontee. We held the ceremony at the beach and lucked out with perfect sunny weather (5pm ceremony). The staff helped transport guests to and from the beach in golf carts. The cocktail hour was held on the large clubhouse deck, followed by dinner and dancing in the large "lounge" room with built-in dance floor.
Since all of our guests would be from out of town, I wanted a venue which could show off the beauty of Maine, but be close to shops, restaurants, and affordable lodging. The ACC fit the bill, and our room blocks at the Quality Inn and Senator just down the road worked perfectly. Our guests loved exploring Hallowell and we had an excellent rehearsal dinner at Joyce's.
We had a bridesmaid luncheon at the clubhouse on Saturday and the groomsmen played golf the morning of the wedding. Tina and her staff were so accommodating to us, and the club members we interacted with were friendly and welcoming (even while we intruded on their lunch hour to hang lights over the dance floor).
We were blessed with a gorgeous July 4th weekend, but even if the entire event had to moved inside, I'm sure it still would be been great. The staff went above and beyond, and our guests could not stop raving about the service they received. A special shout out to Ridge who was always there to take care of my hubby + me! I have so many amazing memories from the night but one of my favorites was the golf cart right my new husband and I took down to the beach for sunset photos. Perfection.
One of our guests commented that the wedding was elegant but laid-back, and I was so happy because this was just the "feel" I was going for. I highly recommend the Augusta Country Club as a wedding venue to any bride-to-be, and I would be happy to give you advice based on my experience (just ask Tina to pass on my contact info).
My hubby and I hope to be living nearby in the future so we can become ACC members. Definitely worth considering if you are in the Augusta area!

Our high school class chose the Augusta Country Club for our 50th Class Reunion -- telling them we wanted a laid-back, informal function because past reunions have shown that' what our group prefers. Their events coordinator worked with us to deliver a great event, using a multi-table seating area in their lounge rather than their formal dining room.
They offered a wide choice of options for cocktail hour appetizers and numerous choices for plated or buffet dinner service. In an effort to boost attendance, we chose some of their more basic options. But despite the lesser costs and more basic food selections, the preparation and presentation were both top-notch. Their suggestions about number-of-appetizers per person were spot on; and the dinner buffet provided more than enough food to meet our needs.
The only down-side to our entire event was the need to provide our own sound system for the oldies-but-goodies CD's we wanted for pre-meal and post-meal visiting. But, overall, their planning advice and their delivery-as-promisd performances were excellent.

I had the opportunity to play the course for the first time recently with some good friends. We played on a Tuesday afternoon, so everything was pretty quiet. Visually, the first and second holes draw you in and challenge you. After that it's a lot of doglegs and minor elevation changes to greens that will test you. The backside is across a fairly busy road (you're at a disadvantage in a golf car), but is tighter and tougher than the front. Definitely an old school golf course!

unfortunately you have to be a member - but its worth it - great food great prices all the time.
