I have seen two shows here in the last two years and both performances were fantastic. The most recent show that I saw with my fiancé was the Nutty Professor and I was amazed at the talent and production. We had great seats but I think the room would provide a great view of the stage from any seat. There is a nice bar and you can take drinks into the show. There is also an outdoor bar for intermission. The seats were fairly comfortable and they have the parking figured out pretty well. I highly recommend!

We went to the Carole King Musical last month in October. It was a very good experience. We sat out on the lawn and had food and drinks before the performance. The Playhouse is an old time venue that was enjoyable. The problem was obtaining tickets from the website. It is difficult to navigate and there are no refunds. So, you need to be careful...

One of the best shows ever. Not just a play it was also very informative. Fantastic performers. The Playhouse is very accommodating. Great venue close to great restaurants. The cast were fantastic. A must see show

Very nice, very old theater with a great tradition, it comes with some challenges. Parking is well organized, but very tight. The seating is not tiered very well, so it's hard to see over or around the people in front of you. But all of that is easy to forget when you consider the memories this place has.There are not many theaters around like this anymore, and that's the enjoyable part. It's well worth a night to enjoy this Maine gem.

What a charming, delightful, and appealing theater! The performance was absolutely professional (Broadway quality) and thoroughly entertaining. We saw "The Nutty Professor" and was impressed from start to finish. The theater director announced that the creator and writers were in the audience observing and doing re-writes that would be incorporated into future performances. We thought it was perfect as-is! The lead performers were outstanding, the story was cute, and the characters phenomenal. Everyone on stage appeared to be enjoying themselves and gave their roles 100%. It was a great experience and we will positively return to the theater the next time we are in the area.

What a pleasant surprise finding this theater on our trip to Maine. Broadway style shows . Not a bad seat in the house. Definitely check the schedule if you are planning to be in the Ogunquit area.

First time to this wonderful venue. Saw the CHER story.What a great production as good as Boston or New York.

This a smaller theater but still one that had a quality performance of CHER. Tickets were pricey at $115 for tier one seats. The seats are not banked so choose wisely for unobstructed view by someone tall in front of you. This performance was outstanding, broadway quality. If you arrive early, there are drinks and snacks and some outside seating available. Also,get there early for choice parking. They have a limited lot so parking is done literally back to back to fit all in. A parking guide is there to point where to park. However, upon leaving, it is a free for all, everyone trying to get out at the same time. There really should be someone out there directing the departure. Some people are very rude and just cut you off. I almost got hit once.

I got a ticket to see Young Frankenstein for an afternoon matinee. Actually, two tickets. Due to COVID, they were only selling tickets as dyads which would be physically distanced from other dyads. I really wanted to see this show so I was willing to pay. I love Mel Brooks. I love Young Frankenstein (I own it). I love musicals including Mel Brooks’ The Producers. What could go wrong?
I absolutely hated this show! I'll spare you the review. And I was stuck! Since I had driven, my car was completely blocked in with how they parked us. I wanted to leave after 10 minutes and couldn’t!
But I do want to leave a fair review for the Ogunquit Playhouse. I’m sure the vast majority of the audience loved the show. I’m just so invested in the original movie (which I’ve seen so many times) that my response was probably inevitable.
I do recommend the Ogunquit Playhouse. Despite my feelings for this show, they DO put on a good production. The musical and dramatic performances were solid. However, for me to return it would have to be 1) when I could purchase just 1 ticket and 2) for a show that I wouldn’t have such deep preexisting feelings about!
So, the show gets a 1 from me and the playhouse a solid 4.
