I go to the Bowling Center every so often to do some candle pin bowling. The place looks like it was frozen in the 60's, but that is fine with me. There is a good amount of charm because of that. There are a lot of lanes, as well as video games, a pool table, a jukebox, and good pizza and other foods. They serve beer as well. Lots of kids parties, but also popular for the locals, especially with college students since UMaine is right around the corner in Orono. Cheap lane prices and shoe rentals, and Clark, the owner, is really nice. At times, he will actually join you for a couple of frames and bowl with you. He's a really good person. Overall, definitely a fun place to spend a few hours on a Saturday evening.

It's an old place, it was dead when we went in and only 1 person working. Fair priced and when we had an issue, he was there before we were able to alert him. No complaints.

Lots of fun for all ages. Affordable prices for bowling, drinks and food. Would highly recommend to everyone!

Candle pin bowling is a blast. Anyone can can enjoy this game; try it. Very friendly staff and a bargain for family fun. It's a treasure in the Bangor area.

We were visiting UMaine with 2 teenagers and decided to give this place a try on a Saturday night, since Orono is a pretty quiet town. From the outside, the place seemed unremarkable and we didn't quite know what we were in for. On the sign, it talks about arcade games, bowling, and air hockey. Good enough for us.
Anyway, we went inside and it's like a complete throwback. It's like turquoise and grey awesomeness.
We got our shoe rentals and were on our way. It's candlepin bowling, which I had never seen or heard of, and the scoring is on actual paper. We didn't know how to do it, but the manager explained it to us.
The pin reset is an actual foot pedal that moves the pins and drops a new set.
They do have video games and air hockey but we didn't play them. There was a music machine and the other patrons who were using it were picking out some fun stuff.
They also had a cute little bar area and seemed to have food, although we didn't partake because we were going to be going out to dinner after. We wished we had more time to play another game.
We had our bowling fun, and when we went to leave, we got a huge surprise. For the 4 of us to play a game and rent shoes, the total cost was only $14!
We really loved this place and would definitely recommend it and return next time we are in the area. It's awesome.

We had a good time, however someone needs to get a cleaning rag and get this place cleaned up. Even the bathroom needs to be bleached!

Until I lived here a couple of years I didn't even know this place existed. Very nostalgic - it will take you right straight back to the fifties and sixties in a flash. A very fun experience. Oh yeah... You have to try the pizza - it's delicious!

Have had the experience of going here for a birthday party. Just a nice, clean, place to bowl and enjoy some food (which was very good)!

Had a great time here with the family. Chicken tenders are excellent! One of the few remaining good value entertainments. Candle pins were great fun. So weird to get used to, but that was part of the fun. As others say, could use some repairs, but nothing that took away from our fun

All of us really had a great time, so great we went 2 times on our week vacation. 2 beers, 5 people and 2 games was only $34. Great price and the kids just loved the "old school" bowling. Small balls that fit in your hand, keep your own score and press the reset button after your 3 rolls = loads of fun!!
