Visited for July 4th 2022 and have a such a lovely time! *HIGHLY RECOMMEND: The best way to get around is by FREE TROLLEY RIDES operating Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. S/O to Joe our driver! A local born and raised that was very knowledgeable about the town and extremely enthusiastic about the beautiful historical landmarks. Only stayed for a few hours but definitely made a big difference through the tour.

There's a map of what life was like before and after the 1813 fire. Just push a button and listen while lights let you know where things happened. We also picked up a flyer for the Lafayette Trail here. It gave us information about significant buildings while we had a nice walk around town.

We stopped here right when it opened as we new they had restrooms. (Extremely clean.)
The volunteer was so enthusiastic about sharing excitement about her town. In addition to info, coupons, and brochures/rack cards for things to do/places to eat, etc., there is a diorama in the Center. It shows how the town was laid out during the British Bombing. The volunteer gave us a quick overview of how it happened - def not something we learned about in school.
Free parking right out front. Volunteer also gave us a wonderful map of shops and walking/historic area.

The Havre de Grace Visitors Center is conveniently located near the main business district and the wide variety of historical sights, restaurants, museums, and unique stores. The venue doubles as as an information center and gift shop. Plenty of easy to use diagonal street parking is available.

We were very impressed with the wealth of information available at this center for the town of Havre de Grace. There are many exhibits, a slide presentation, some souvenirs, many brochures on the town and surrounding area. The staff was most friendly and the rest rooms inside were modern and clean. We were impressed that it was open on a Sunday (summer only). Free and plentiful parking available.

I can't speak to the quality of the center or its facilities because it was closed when I was there. And according to the posted hours, it was supposed to be open. And it was a spring weekend day. No excuse for that.

A small visitor center with a small dated display. It's not like a national park visitor center but they have a lot of brochures and the older gentleman was very helpful in telling us where the top sites were and recommending certain brochures. He also showed us the display they had there on the history of the town We sort of blew in from stupid town and didn't know a single thing about Havre de Grace but he told us about main street and the promenade and the museums and how to get to them. The gentleman was five stars. I was grateful the town has this type of thing because we would have had to search and I'm not sure we would have found the promenade which is the main site in this town.

Steve was manning the desk when we stopped by. He was very informative and honest especially with restaurant recommendations. Two scale model displays - one of old Havre de Grace and one of a barn with the horse stalls on the 2nd floor. Small bathroom with lots of natural light.

Staying near I-95 next Saturday night. Any. Ice,clean hotels near I-95?

I would pull up Havre de Grace on Trip Advisor under hotels and it will give you a great overview on your options and their exact locations. It looks like there are 3 economy motels near that exit, but you will have to stop a few miles north at North East or go 4 miles south to Aberdeen for a Courtyard, Holiday Inn, Residence, Best Western etc...to get a higher end motel.
