Always looking for different places to take our disabled son and thought we would give here a try? I last visited in the '80s and played soccer at the field but there is more to Prince Edward Park. Nestled alongside the Wonnie river the ground easily floods & is a memorable mud pit. There are walking tracks through the nearby bush or you can stroll along the waterfront or use the beach area in front of the surf club! A great picnic area and playground equipment for the young or young at heart! There is a boat shed, cafe & even a licensed Club all in the immediate area. Well worth a drop in and never overcrowded, Enjoy!

There's something for everyone at Prince Edward Park. It's lovely scenery along the banks of the Woronora River makes it the perfect place for a picnic.
The little beach was a hit for small children, had sufficient shade and was dog-friendly. It was also fun watching the local kids jump into the river from the footbridge that stretches out across the Woronora. There were kayaks and canoes for hire at the Boatshed Cafe - which was located smack bang right on the river, and it's nice atmosphere makes it a popular venue with the locals. There's also the Woronora River RSL on offer.
The flat banks of the Woronora make it the perfect place for a picnic, or if you're feeling a bit more athletic, there's nearby bush walking trails taking you up into the surrounding hills - with one track in particular offering amazing views over the hamlet (see photos). There's also walking tracks connecting the Woronora River to Sutherland (which comes out at Linden Street). The centrally-located carpark and public toilets are just a short walk from all these venues.
I think what makes Prince Edward Park so special is that time (and the rest of Sydney) seem to have forgotten about this quiet, sleepy, scenic little hamlet. It always feels like I'm revisiting my childhood back in the 60's when I visit this place.
