It's free! But we gave a donation. Not crowded on a holiday Sunday. It will be beautiful when the weather gets better and one can walk around the pond and the pools in the courtyard are filled. Amy Genser's Shifting installation is marvelous. And the Daniel Jocz collection is fascinating. We brought our lunch and ate in the lunchroom. Great day

A small museum in a building next to an Olmsted park , whose architects drew on a model in Denmark, Louisiana. The Fuller museum is a celebration of art through crafts, and it is beautifully curated and presented.
Visitors may not appreciate that the museum shares the distinction of being next to an Olmsted park with the Metropolitan in New York, and the two great museums in Boston. The Fuller focusses on crafts, with weaving, glass, and woodwork on display during my visit.
Good curation is a rare skill, and the Fuller is in in good hands. Works are well displayed, well described, and the exhibits of high quality.

I try to visit the Fuller Craft Museum at least once a year. I used to borrow the museum pass from my library. The museum has changed their method of admittance fees to " according to recommended amounts". I don't know yet if I like that method. Anyhow, it is not a big deal to me now. What irked me is I came to the museum on a weekday, and expected to see fewer people than weekends. It came as a surprise the parking lot was completely full. There was another parking lot adjacent which was for handicap and reserve parking. Later found out there was a group of adults attending together at the museum. I actually thought their behavior in some ways was worse than young children. There were small groups loudly chatting away and blocking the exhibits. I think if there were museum staff there, the loud groups of people would have been broken up. Nevertheless , I enjoyed viewing the exhibits and put up with their ignorance.

We visited this lakeside 1967 “Bauhaus” style museum that exhibits the best of contemporary crafts. After using a credit card for the admission($10 each senior suggested), we used the lower level clean restrooms then circled the halls to discover our favorites; Soft sculptures from discarded textiles by Tamara Kostianovsky, Inner courtyard pigs by Elliot Kayser, Porcelain Paper Clay by Antonella Cimatti and "Going inwards," glazed porcelain paper clay by Rashi Jain. We strolled the exterior woodland using their guide to find all the listed sculptures.
This was a fascinating museum that would generally be out of our interest but glad we saw this one.

Inspires a conversation about the distinction between crafts and art. lots of ceramics, wood and fber $12 suggested donation. Niche places like this deserve our support in the age of Covid.

Fascinating museum with very well done displays and exhibits. Although in an unexpected location, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The building is beautiful and also in a beautiful setting. We'll definitely return!!

Fuller Craft Museum is tradition with an edge. Modern social themes like gender balance, addiction and immigration are given expression through crafts that humans have carried on for eons with their hands and tools.

A friend and I stopped at the Fuller Museum on a whim, and what a lovely surprise it was! It’s quite small, but very tastefully arranged. They had a great installation of Brockton students artwork. MTA members have free entry. Plan an hour.

This craft museum has several shows each year and always hits it out of the park! The care with which the crafts are curated and displayed highlights the medium--whether its jewelry, pottery, woodcarving or sculpture. On our last visit we were so impressed with the pottery that we came back to Massachusetts the next weekend for a tour of their studios. Similarly, the whimsical zodiac wood figures by Donna Dodson, made you want to reach out and touch the shining surfaces. Certainly, this stays on our itinerary for our next trip to the Boston area.

While the museum isn't large - the collection is very thought provoking. They range from sorrowful to outrageous - and all are subject for dialogue. For me, this is what art should do - ask you to search your soul for answers to the questions presented through art. The architecture of the building and its placement is also beautiful. It would be lovely to visit in the warm weather.

I have 2 grand kids ages 15 and 9. The older one is very into art but the younger one is a boy with ADD. He likes museums with hands on displays. Would this be better suited to an outing with just his older sister and find a different activity to do with him? Thanks for any advice you offer. My husband and I were at the Fuller several years ago but I only remember it as small but interesting but no details.

I think you are right that it would be a better place for his sister than for the younger one. The Children's Museum in Boston might be a better place for the younger one. There is also the Discovery Museum in Acton, MA that might be of interest to the 9 year old.
