Went on a flight with Joe on 11/16. The weather was perfect - sunny, warm (for November), and not very windy. We flew from Chatham to Wellfleet and back. We saw two great whites off Rock Harbor and three whales off Marconi Beach! Amazing - I will do this again!

My husband and I did the hour tour and had a fantastic experience. Our pilot, Kyle, was amazing, providing not only a smooth flight but lots of interesting facts and stories about what we were looking at down below. This is definitely something you don't want to miss if you are visiting Cape Cod!

Our 30 min. biplane tour of the whole mid-Cape area exceeded our expectations on all fronts. We had a perfect day for flying; cool temps, not much sun and high clouds only. We were also fortunate to have Tim Howard at the rudder. As the owner of the business, he was invested in making us totally safe and comfortable.
The front cockpit of the biplane seems small at first glance, but it is quite comfortable once you are settled inside. The heat from the plane’s motor provides warmth in the front and the windshield does its job, so no worries about being cold. Leave your jackets at home, but make sure to tie your hair back if it’s long. The headsets that you wear during the flight help with noise and hair control.
Annalise made sure that you had “before and after” pictures of your adventure and was very helpful with booking and paperwork. Don’t be discouraged if your first booking gets cancelled due to weather. We got cancelled three times prior to this flight for weather-related concerns, but were rewarded with a flight that was smooth as silk and offered great visibility. Be patient and you won’t be sorry.
Tim had depth of knowledge about the Cape and made sure that you were oriented to what you were looking at. He doesn’t let you miss any of the good stuff.
If you think you know everything there is to know about Cape Cod, take a ride in a biplane with Stick’N Rudder and get a whole new perspective on this beautiful slip of land.

Last week I did one of my "bucket list" adventures. I finally took a flight on a biplane. It was glorious! My nephew joined me and we both loved it. Our pilot, Kyle Takakjian, was excellent. The 30 minute flight over Outer Cape Cod was as wonderful as I anticipated. I enjoyed feeling the open air and the incredible views of Cape Cod Bay. Kyle pointed out the kettle ponds, oyster beds in Wellfleet and interesting sights only seen from above. Then we flew down the ocean side on our beautiful National Seashore. What a sight! Even saw some seals. And fun seeing familiar beaches and places from above.
Prior to the flight, Kyle had carefully explained what we could expect so we felt very comfortable. What I didn't know was that he was going to explain what we were seeing as we flew. Although I am familiar with the Cape, I learned new information, which I appreciated.
I may have to put this biplane flight back on my bucket list!

My husband and I did the 1/2 tour in the skyhawk piloted by Chris and it was amazing. The views of the ocean, the dunes, the beaches and our favorite places like the beachcomber, the seals, Marconi beach, and the kettle ponds was a special experience we’ll always remember.

Kyle took us on a great tour over Cape Cod. We highly recommend seeing the Cape from a bi-plane. Kyle was a fantastic tour guide.

Had an amazing flight with Jimmy, can’t believe the views we had and he really explained so much about what we saw. Should have gone for the longer flight. Will definitely be back.

5 stars is not enough , it’s 10+ stars!!!
Silas went above and beyond my expectations during our 30 min flight. Not only did he point out local landmarks and beaches but he also put us on 2 great whites and then circled my house.
I can’t recommend this experience enough.

Are you available for families that want to spread ashes over Monomoy/otherplaces? Its my fathers' wish (not yet deceased) to do this but I haven't had luck finding anyone that does this sort of thing. Native Cape Codder btw, many generations. Thank you, Brenda

It seems like it would be best to wait for warmer weather to do this but would the experience be just as good now? Looking to do a surprise birthday trip but the birthday is at the end of this month!

Hi! We do offer the Cessna Skyhawk tour year round, and I would say that you get a different view of the Cape in the winter than in the Spring/Summer as the leaves are all down. Any time of year is beautiful though, just different.
It can be a little more difficult to schedule due to the unpredictable weather this time of year. But, the tours are very nice on a sunny day.
We also offer gift certificates if you would like something to give at the time, and then schedule later.

You have said on the Skyhawk what is the weight limit if three adults want to fly. I am 254 lbs and wife about 150 can I have my brother at 225 lbs? Thank you for your time. I am not a robot asking this question.

You should be fine. We use 600lbs as an estimate, but 29 lbs over is close enough. I confirmed with both our pilot Dan, as well as the owner Tim.

I need to know if the charges on the website for the aero tours-- for instance you say " $175 per flight" for the 30-minute tour--are per person or per tour/plane flight. Thanks.

the price is for the total of up to three passengers (per flight). So, the price per aircraft/flight would be $175 for the 30 minute flight whether you have 1, 2 or 3 people. I hope this helps :)

Is the advertised cost of tours, for instance "$175 per flight" a per person charge? how many people at a time in 1 plane/tour? Do you book in advance? Do the tours run in September, particularly? All Year round?

Hi Poemsmith,
Thank you for your questions. Stick'N Rudder Tours operates Sightseeing Tours out of Chatham Municipal Airport in Chatham Massachusetts, year round, weather permitting. We do suggest scheduling ahead to ensure that you have the date/ time that best meets your schedule.
September is a lovely time of year on Cape Cod. We can put a tentative time/ date on the schedule to reserve your spot, and if there is an inclement weather issue, we will contact you to arrange another time.
Our standard tours are provided in a Cessna 172 Skyhawk, which seats 4, a pilot and three passengers (up to a certain weight). We do have more than one place, so if you have more than three people, we can accommodate either with two planes going out at once, or one at a time, whichever is your preference. We currently offer three tours, a 15 minute one, 30 minute or a 55 minute tour. If you have something special you wanted to see, we would do our best to accommodate if possible.
