Discovered this park when looking for fishing spots while on vacation. It is a great park. Half moon is a wonderful beach -quite and calm. The visitor center is closed so are the restrooms but they do have porta pottys down by the softball feild. Lots of little trails. Looked like a nice sized playground. Pleanty of picnic tables and benches to look out over the water. Had a nice time fishing from the beach. Would go back!

This place costs $25 to park. The privatization of land and nature is ridiculous. This park is inaccessible to anyone trying to enjoy nature on a budget.

We discovered Stage Fort Park by accident one Sunday morning, as we were going to the Hammond Castle Museum, located about a mile further south along the coast. We arrived before the museum's opening time, so we drove further north up 127 to see what we could see in the meantime. On the right, down toward the water was this park. We stopped for a while and found a large, clean park with lots of parking (this was mid-May, and parking was free). The park has a fine view out over the ocean, benches here and there for sitting, and an octagonal bandstand. There are large rocks down toward the water's edge, some historical markers along the road, and the Gloucester City visitor's center is in the park too, though it was closed during our visit. Overall, it was a nice find and a welcome break for a while before the museum opened. Judging from the size of the parking lot, it must be popular during the summer months.

Very nice park a short walk from the Fisherman's monument. Plenty of space for kids to run around and play on the playground equipment. Pet friendly on select months of the year. Signs are posted.

this park and beach (too rocky to swim) was a beautiful spot on the water. No fee to go to this park. Beautiful location and breeze.

My wife and I isited the park to get information at the visitor de tee located off western Avenue before the fee booth for the park. Since we arrived early my wife and I walked toward the shore, noting the very attractive gazebo (used for summer concerts) and the. huge monument rock. The visitor center itself, added in the 1920s, is a very attractive building with a deep and comfortable wraparound porch.
The two women staffing the center were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.

We walked through this park today and it’s beautiful. Perfect spot for this time of year. Parking is free this time of year. We walked the whole park then to downtown.

This is where the official visitors center is, but check for hours, as they are a little irregular.
Tons of parking all over the park, and a walk to the rocky beach in less than five minutes. Lots of space to spread out, play, and cook. Picnic tables available.

very cool - paths thru woods out to rock outcroppings with great views, even benches to sit, or right on the smooth rocks. paths down to water. neat secluded beach with nice sand. lots of picnic tables and open lawns. kids park had great climbing and things to do. tons of parking. a very cool dog park with play features. very clean!! dairy bar type takeout restaurant. lots of room to spread out. rocky beach to look for treasures.

Parking is available at $10 per vehicle on weekdays and $15 on weekends and holidays. There is also a dog park located in the parking lot of Stage Fort Park - for information please visit Gloucester Dog Park's website.

I have never noticed a gas grille at the park. I would think a gas grille is more practical and safer than charcoal. They have receptacles for the hot charcoals for your conveyance. If you want to make sure then I would suggest you call the Chamber of Commerce in Gloucester for a more positive answer to your question. Enjoy your stay at the park,
