The falls were beautiful even with the small amount of water flowing. People were swimming in the pools at the bottom of each of the falls. Very worth the walk dowm.

This walk/ hike takes about an hour round trip (you could probably do it in half that if you wanted to run) and is nicely shaded most of the way. The first .3 miles is in a neighborhood as parking is at the YMCA, but once you get into the trees, you follow the stream all the way to the waterfall.

This was an easy and pleasant hike/walk to the waterfall. As stated in other posts, park at the elementary school and walk to the trailhead. We didn’t see any blue trail markers once we were on the actual trail (they were in the neighborhood on the walk from the school). Once or twice the trail seemed to make us cross the creek, which was fun —but just so you’re aware. Either that or there was a tree blocking the regular path. We tried to get close up to the falls, which involved a bit of rock hopping. I’m not sure how much rain they’ve had recently, but the falls were much smaller than I had expected, based on other photos posted.

Nice hike through the woods along a peaceful creek. It’s about a mile in and another out. When you get there pull through the school parking lot to the YMCA and park there. From there it’s about 0.4 miles to the trail head

Our kids, 7 and 10, absolutely loved this hike. It starts by parking at the elementary school and is a short walk through a quaint little neighborhood. The trail is shaded and runs right along the river, lots of rocks for active kids to jump around on. The waterfall itself is stunning. Even the river rocks are beautiful. Definitely worth seeing.

Follow the reviews in other places that suggest parking at the YMCA and cutting through the neighborhood to get to the entrance. It's an easy nature walk, with a nice waterfall at the end. Not very wide, so hope that no one else is disturbing your time with nature.

This was a beautiful hike however we were the only ones there at around 8:30 in the morning and we saw this print in the mud so turned around. No idea what kind of animal, maybe a dog? However it was enough to scare us off.

Loved this trail! Didn't get to do the entire hike in because of time but it was so beautiful and almost magical, even in winter. Still lots of green around and beautiful flowing creek. Also not a difficult hike and good for kids/beginners.

We followed the instructions of previous reviewers and parked at the YMCA and school, then found the steps behind the brown shed and followed the blue signs on the telephone poles. This, after turning around in circles yesterday and desperately leaving because we did not find the trailhead. This will teach me to check TripAdvisor every time; yesterday we just took the advice of the lady at the hotel, well intentioned but not very clear. I'm so glad we went back! The trail is easy (except for a few steps at the end by the waterfall) and the sunlight was filtering so beautifully through all the leaves in all the different colors....it was such a pleasure to be there. It's just about a mile one way so it will not take you too long.

This is the second time in 3 weeks I have been down this trail and to the falls. Park at the YMCA or Brayton Elementary School. The way is clearly marked through a wood, over a small bridge, through some residential neighborhoods to the beginning of the trail. That is about 1/4 mile. The actual trail is fairly flat until you near the falls when it gets a bit rooty and steep. This is about a 20 min walk for adults. Within visual range of the falls it is rocky and if you are actually going to the falls and the pool, you may have to wait your turn as it is a fairly small area. There are many places along the stream where you can stop and wet your feet and enjoy the water.
It is August and the water is low. The falls are still existing but even in the two weeks between visits the water is clearly lower. The falls are fun to stand under. This is a single person activity and most people think it is too cold to stand under for any length of time. I loved it but I take cold showers regularly so I am acclimated.
The trail is moderately busy but we didn't find it crowded. Both days I visited were hot but the entire trail is pleasantly cool. There is very little sun so do bring a towel if you chill easily and you plan to go in the water.
This is a child friendly hike with supervision at the falls and by the stream. Great outdoor break from the heat.

Best hikes in this area? Looking for scenery, moderate difficulty ( have a toddler in a back pack) but want a little challenge. Best swimming and places to eat in the area?

This would be a good hike with a baby backpack. There are tons of good places to eat. Hot tomatoes for an outdoor pizza spot. There Log for a casual spot to sit inside and receive a huge portion. Not sure about swimming.
