Most likely it will be too early, as it takes some time for the ice to form. But it seems like it is also too early to plan (I assume you mean Nov 2020). There are no reservations to be made, so probably you can just check the weather forecast, and inquire through their Facebook page a few days before the trip.

I saw people doing this.... Yet it looked very difficult as they were carrying them.I would personally wait until the kids were a bit the losers and could handle the terrain - it was slick and at times trying. We did see a few tots in tears (it’s not easy for little legs). The last bit is steep & slick - our 10 yr old did great yet even after commented on how the hike was and next time she wants to take her snowshoes & poles to make it easier. Hope this helps.

There are various motels/hotels in either Munising (30 minutes from Ice Caves) or Newberry (82 minutes from Ice Caves) that you could stay at.

This is a waterfall whose flow over a ledge becomes frozen, forming a 'ice cave' in the WINTER. This is a natural attraction with no phone number to call or tickets to purchase. It is a short winter hike because a private land owner graciously allows the public to walk across their property. The summer hike is longer and the flow will be reduced by the end of summer unless your hike us preceded by a rain event.

I brought my dog and a small plastic sled with a 6YO in it. The trail is well traveled and snow becomes slick and matted. Half the people that were there had ice cleats, and the other half wished they had them.
