I visited this family-run pub in Ireland a few weeks ago while with a tour company. It was very warm and cozy and had a small-town feel. It had two bars and a quiet little room off to the side with a fireplace and a tv for the locals to watch the latest sports matchup. The owner was very nice, he even let us pour our own drinks!! Small entertainment area for a quiet time with friends. Away from the hustle and bustle and great for a time to chill and relax!! Highly recommend in your travels to Ireland!!

I’m here right now with Trafalgar tours, and I’m enchanted by this place. Their owner is superbly kind and gracious. Their entertainment is simply awesome and their chips and cider hit the spot for this American. 10/10 :) also their dog is adorable

Best Night of My Life

Malzards was fantastic! I went there with my tour group (EF Ultimate Break) and it felt like a new home! The keeper of the bar, Fred, taught us all about Gaelic hurling and even showed us how to play! Rory was an amazing musician there and kept us partying all night! Fred gave us random instruments from around the bar and had us join in on playing and singing. We sang so loud and for so long that my voice was gone for two days after, but it was so so worth it!! I can honestly say it was the best night of my life and I cannot recommend this place enough. You’ll truly find a second home there!

Learning to pour a perfect pint of Guinness, learning the great sport of Hurling, singing along to some favorite tunes….even sang with the band! Hands down, the best time during my trip to Ireland!

Malzard's Pub and Hurling Experience

This was one of the most beautiful pubs we visited. The owner gave a wonderful history of this fifth generation pub and he gave a great presentation about hurling. We each got to learn how to pull our own pint and try hitting a sliotar (hurling ball).

Fun food and friends!

We stopped there for an evening. Great family owned local business. Something universal…shop local. I made sure all my shopping was done in small village shops. The food was great, the back grounds hurling lesson was a blast and the fun was genuine. If you are in town, support this family owned business!

Great family owned pub and hurling to boot!

Fred and his staff are amazing! Wonderful time learning some about hurling and I even learned to pour my own ale. Great music and service in a family owned pub! There’s nearly as many pubs as sheep in Ireland but this one is special and worth the drive.
