An extreme disappointment, we were there for the Junior Gold tournament, the largest youth bowling tournament in the country. The owners took the USBC's money and provided a far belkow average experience for the kids bowling in the tournament and their families. Temperatures in the bowling alley hovered around 90 degrees, except in the bar wher the owner sat with a friend in 72 degree comfort. The lanes broke down repeatedly and the staff were rude to say the least. At one point a USBC volunteer went to the counter and asked for a towel to clean up a spill and the counter employee told her rudely that she didn't have any towels, didn't call for someone to assist with the spill and told the volunteer to go to the bar, maybe she could get one there. Athletes were banned from bringing in refillable water bottles so that the house could make $3 per bottle for a bottle of water that you could but outside for $4 a case. Every other house for this tournament, and every house I have ever been in for tournaments, supplied free water for the athletes. Stay away from this place, the ownership is all about making money and not providing a healthy environment.

Disappointed in how they treated the athletes for a NATIONAL bowling tournament. These athletes were denied access to free water, unlike in the other centers being used who had WATER BOTTLE FILLING STATIONS for athletes. They instead posted a sign that said that they couldn’t allow outside water bottles or even empty water bottles to be filled per the INGHAM county health dept, which was a lie. I spoke with the health dept who knew nothing about this and made no such directive. In addition, the air conditioning was poor, if not non Existent. Our athletes were overheated. Many felt this was intentional so they could price gouge and charge $3.00 per water bottle. They left teens in charge of being “the bad guys” at the door monitoring the intake of outside food. One of the women that worked there was the rudest when it came to this supposed health dept rule. LET’S BE CLEAR…. Not one person can argue they want to sell their own food and beverage… totally get that and SUPPORT it. Bowling families are used to this as we travel around the country doing so; however, treating teen athletes this way is unacceptable. What a difference they could have made if they actually didn’t see the event as an opportunity to be greedy and provided simple amenities like a free small bottle of water or a package deal for water and Gatorade. They MISSED an opportunity to build community and bring in additional revenue by making parents so angry and irritated, that the families boycotted their concessions, waited and went across the street to FLAP JACKS where the service was outstanding and friendly. Someone didn’t get their sales & marketing degree. Royal Scot, Spectrum, AMF Eastbrook, and the other centers truly understood what this event was about- THE KIDS and helping BOWLING THRIVE and GROW.

We had a blast at Spartan Axe Throwing!! Marissa had a ton of patience and guided us through out the different games. Would highly recommend for something fun and different to do!

Marissa at Spartan Axe Throwing was amazing. Very helpful and attentive. She helped us get the hang of Throwing axes and made sure we had a blast. I highly recommend going and having her as your coach.

We had a group of 5 and the wait was minimal. We sat down and ordered food while we were waiting for a lane. We had fun bowling but the Axe throwing was a blast! Our instructor, Marissa, was amazing! She made the experience knowledgeable and extremely fun. Definitely coming back!!

Marissa was awesome. This was our first time as throwing. My ten year old had fun and Marissa was patient and great with the entire family.

I am always at Sparetime these days and everytime, Dustin makes my visit so nice.. He is such a wonderful guy and his personality puts me in a great mood! Dustin was the best waiter I ever had had in any experience in this place. This place would not be the best without him. He makes the experience great as well as his service which is underestimated. He is more than a waiter and I will come back to this place just because of him, he made everything comfortable and beyond enjoyable on one of my worst days and I thank him. If you go there I highly suggest him to have a thourough great time!!!
