Great vacation destination

Awesome place to visit. Was the Lilac festival and you could smell them everywhere. Lots of walking, up and down hill. Great tour in horse and buggy. Lots of families and family thing to do.

A Beautiful and romantic island

My friend and I are the fans of the movie Somewhere in Time. We want to see the Grand Hotel where the movie was made. The trip was wonderful. We had the Afternoon Tea by the window, a breathtaking view of the lake Huron. We walked everywhere on the beautiful island.

Beautiful island, beautiful Grand hotel. Scenic landscapes and homes. No automobiles, only bikes and horses and horse drawn carriages. Lunch at the Grand Hotel was nothing less than GRAND. Surely gained 10 lbs. on the luscious dessert choices. Thumbs up.

The first day has been great. The garden tours of the “cottages’ on the western bluff was wonderful!

Many good aspects but not what we expected

We took the walking tour with Moira and really enjoyed the first half of the tour, which included many historical anecdotes. We walked up Cadotte Ave, up past the Grand Hotel, and on to the West Bluff. We enjoyed the homes on the West Bluff and Moira has many, many pictures to show you of them as you walk past. This is the part that eventually felt a little overdone... my son called it the "HGTV tour" of the island. We basically walked a loop up W. Bluff Rd., around Algonquin St. and back to Cadotte. I think the tour would be fine, but for the price, it really didn't deliver the depth of history we were expecting. I definitely think a carriage tour might be a better option.

Great tour

Very informative and awesome views! Moira went above and beyond with our group. We went at a relaxed pace and she had time for all our questions. By the end of the tour our group felt like family. Highly recommended even if you've been coming to the island for years.

The tour Moira took us on of the West Bluff cottages was fantastic. I highly recommend her tour for anyone who is interested in seeing the island from breathtaking vistas and hearing the rich history of this island. This tour does not disappoint!

Great Start to our Island Visit

My husband and I used to visit Mackinac Island growing up, and we finally got a chance to visit together. We started our stay with a tour. What a great way to start our visit - a great walking tour, the pictures from inside the homes, the history of the homes and how they are maintained, all unique information. Beyond the tour, we received lots of suggests for other things to do during our Island stay.

Loved the tour

My husband and I had a wonderful bike tour with Moira and Mackinac Revealed. The breadth and depth of her knowledge are invaluable. We toured many of the back-road areas that tourists don't usually get to see. I've heard so many people describe the crowded tourist areas of Mackinac Island. Let Moira show you the lovely parts of the island that you'll really want to see.

Bring your plastic. Don’t leave home without it!

Beautiful natural beauty which is free, so long as you walk everywhere. For everything else, the cost is double for what you would expect to pay. Bike rentals are $6 an hour or over $50 for the day. Carriage ride tours are $30 per person. Food ranges from $5 hotdogs to dinner entrees over $80. Seriously, only come here if price is no object and you wish to take in sparkling clean waters, wooded walking trails, and the smell of horse dung. (Cars not allowed) Electric or propane carts not allowed either. The rooming accommodations are top, and the overall aura of a late 19th century resort town is wonderful but, oh the price!
