Our bagpipe band performed at this Brewery on July 1st and July 3rd for the crowds that loved our performance outside. On July 4th, four of us returned to have a drink inside of the bar where there was another band performing on the stage. There wasn't anywhere to sit so we were standing in the back of the crowd having a conversation when a couple of college students decided to come and interrupt our conversation and told us we had to move for no apparent reason. Because there was no reason to move or know where to move to, we stood and kept our conversation. Then this one unhinged young college girl came up and hit me in the back and started swearing at me that we had to move and I told her that it wasn't happening. So she started jumping up and down and went and got a young man that works at the bar that wears a beard and looks like a leprechaun that came and threatened us that he would call the police if we didn't leave. We told him to go ahead and call the police because we'd have not done anything except for stand in one spot and have a conversation with each other. We could have stood our ground but instead decided that we would leave and never come back. They could check their tapes of their security cameras to see that we were guilty of nothing other than standing and creating revenue for the bar whereas the two individuals that weren't spending any money but watching their friends on the stage that were basically unhinged and out of control are the type of crowd that black rocks apparently supports. I wanted to speak to a manager that evening and they refused. They didn't have to call the police because we leave realizing that this place wasn't worth our time or spending our money. I've never seen such behavior in a bar, but since they cater to a certain type of crowd, we really do understand what's going on in that establishment.

This brewery is a little hard to navigate. It’s very choppy and there are long lines for beer. We would probably go to other breweries in the area rather than going back to this one. Beer was decent. But again would probably get better ones at other local breweries in the area. Glad we went. But probably wouldn’t go back.

Great beer, ordered a pizza from the food truck which we really enjoyed, great service also. Highly recommend this as a stop while you are in Marquette.

Great beers….outside rooftop patio was a lovely place to sit and relax after a hike! The inside area looked like a great place also!

Fun place with around 20 options on tap- something for any taste and lots of good indoor and outdoor seating uptions on both levels- nice walk up from the lakefront and certainly many dining options within a half mile if one is inclined to stretch their legs a bit or drive

This introvert had a blast last weekend during Music on 3rd where we spent most of the evening at BrB. Loved the Honey Lav brew and the energy of the crowd out back with the band. And then up on the upper terrace out front we went to finish our beers under the breeze. No visit to Marquette is complete without stopping in.

We were here on a Monday night in late October, so it appeared to be a lot of locals. You order your beer on the lower level and then find a spot to sit. The building appears to be an old house, and we climbed some wooden steps and found some stools on the second floor. Many looked like they were there for the evening, some playing board games at the tables. We walked outside to see that area, but the seats by the fires were all taken. In nicer weather the outdoor patio would be awesome. Beer was very reasonable and tasty. We’d like to go back when we could enjoy the outdoor seating.

It’s a brewery that looks like a house. To be honest, we walked right by it twice before realizing the brewery is actually a house. There is a sign in the front yard, but it is a small sign. The beers were okay. They weren’t the best we’ve had and the brewery did offer bands and tables behind the building, but it looked more geared to locals and not so much for tourists. It has a lot of potential and looks to be in the beginning stages of development, especially with the addition it’s adding on the side. The brewery smell of the hops blew into the sitting area in the back, which took away from the atmosphere. The City of Marquette needs to invest in the eateries in the area. Although this place offered beer, there were limited places to eat nearby and the shops closed at 6, so after 6, the only reason you would be in the area would be for this brewery. I gave it a 3 star because I’m used to breweries like 50 West and Mount Carmel in Ohio. I think this place could be better in time. It has great potential.

Ended both nights of our two day stay in Marquette at this brewery. Casual fun atmosphere, with games, fire pits, music, outside bar and covered areas to allow for distancing, yet with a friendly vibe. Diverse group of patrons ranging from cross country bikers to business folks of all ages. Enjoyed Octoberfest and Honey Lavender beer, along with food truck fare on both nights.

It was our last night in Marquette and we decided to check out Blackrocks Brewery. We were just going to have a flight and leave, but the outdoor atmosphere and live music kept us there until 9:00. They don’t offer food, but there was a wood fired pizza truck parked out front. Patrons are welcome to bring food with them.
