A state park day pass that you can purchase at the entryways. Good for every state park for the day. Check their website for current fees.
For my UP road trip I'm planning on getting here at about 9 am, camping overnight, and then departing at about 9 am the next day. We are late 20's and enjoy hiking, but we also would like to drive to any locations that offer "quick win" views. Any suggestions that we could squeeze into 24 hours?

Presque Isle waterfall trail all the way to the Lake and back, Summit Peak trail to the tower (both of these are in South Boundary Road), then over to Lake of the Clouds as the finale. That's the longest to shortest hikes. You can add the Escarpment Trail on when you get to Lake of the Clouds and want still more hiking. It's a serious down and back up, or you can go meet it midway on the highway and take it up and back down. See those three things and you've hit the highlights. Mirror Lake would be the bonus. Be prepared for serious buggage.
We're planning a family trip here, and one of our group is 9 years old and isn't a fan of nature. Are there any fun kid activities in the area that aren't totally backcountry nature-oriented? Water parks, game arcades, zip lines, horseback tours?
