On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, I scheduled a tee time for myself and my CTO for Wednesday, October 13, 2021. We drove from Indianapolis, IN, to Legacy Golf Course in MI to golf this course as we had before while meeting with clients. Our tee time was for 8:56 am, and at no point did this course inform us they were doing anything to the course other than resurfacing the blacktop. While we have golfed this course many times before, we felt it was a great way to start the day.

Upon arrival, we still were not informed of anything. We set off, and the first hole was tremendous, but coming into the second hole, we noticed a 1/2" of sand covering the green. I called the course clubhouse and informed them that you couldn't putt because of the sand. They said it would be fixed and that it should be that much. We went on to two other hoes only to watch as they poured so much sand into the greens that you couldn't see any grass nor even putt. It was the same as going to the beach and trying to practice putting.

This made gold impossible, and the group we were with agreed, and we went to the course clubhouse and asked for a raincheck for another time as we were leaving to play another course. They laughed at us and said they couldn't do anything for us. We even showed them the video and images. While in the clubhouse, many more people were coming in with the same complaint. The younger staff were condescending and unprofessional.

Before writing this review, I first reached out to the club manager and assistant manager to see if we could get a raincheck, and they didn't respond to our emails or phone calls. This is not what I have come to expect from this course, and it con only, and that the owners may need to look into mew managers who can do the job with professionalism.

Matt Shock was emailed twice and still didn't reply. Bill Johnson was emailed and didn't reply only to show further that this course, although typically very lovely, has fallen to poor management and is no longer a choice for us for future events and or outings. The beautiful people at Monroe Golf and Country Club managed to get us on their course that day, and we were able to play still at an additional cost, of course. While I am not saying this course is terrible, their staff and professionalism or caring attitude for their customers were questioned on this day. Since Facebook doesn't give us a place for images, I will paste them in a comment on this review.

A very fun and interesting tract (the back nine is so much different than the front nine) and a great value (price). Somewhat disappointed by the non-fairway areas with many 'bald, weedy patches' and overall course condition was "just okay".

These owners and managers do not appreciate the guests or the loyalty of a $4000 customer. The owners are cheap , chincy, and possibly incompetent when it comes to honoring a contract. The golf course is in okay shape but management has only their eye on the dollar today. Yesterday I presented a rain check from last fall. They refused to honor it saying that it was more than 90 days old. What the??? If you were given a rain check after paying full price would you not expect it to be a valid substitute? There was no mention of an expiration at the time of issue. There was no expiration date printed on the rain check. I feel we have be cheated out of the value. For the last 10 years I have spent at least $400 a year at Legacy; bringing friends and clients to the course for play and or food service. I recommend that you do not patronize these goodwill killing people. They have received the last dollar from me. They have lost a $4000 customer over a tiny $16 rain check

A well-known architect designed this course, which is located out in the country. It was played on numerous occasions during the past several years and the staff has always been friendly. The rates are reasonable.

Portions of some holes flank farmlands. Most greens are small or average in size. Balls can be found easily in most areas of the 1st cut of rough. Some holes have small hills, but most of the fairways are fairly flat.

Holes that require precise shot making are #5, #8, #14, #15, #17, and #18. Hole #5 is short in length but requires two very accurate shots to reach the green in regulation.

Hole #8 is very short, but do not be fooled by the length and do not assume the green is easy to putt. This is one of the few true island greens in southeastern Michigan.

Overall, this course is challenging enough…but without being overbearing.

This is about the best year-round course in the region. It is recommended to call ahead, but the battery-operated drive carts – that moved fast and rode smoothly – were allowed out the first week of January.

I have had the opportunity to golf The Legacy three times over the past four summers while in the Toledo, OH area. The first two visits, I knew it was a nice course, but with temperatures in the mid to upper 90's, finishing eighteen holes was my only focus. Today I golfed the course on a cloudy, windy, chilly July day and my only wish upon leaving was that I lived closer to the Legacy so I could play this course more often.

The course is very wide open, having been built on farmland. Some trees, some water, but neither of which become annoyingly problematic through the round; though sand traps are plentiful.

Noted today was the improvement in the upkeep of the course over past visits. In a summer where the greens of every course I have played are in extremely poor shape due to the brutal and lengthy winter, the Legacy's greens were an unexpected pleasure.

The greens fees were very fair given the quality of the course. Clubhouse was basic; pro shop small and only had men's clothing. Staff has always been friendly and helpful.
