The tunnel can be seen from the railroad crossing, but there is no safe place to view the tunnel. My train fanatic husband was excited to see a train fire up and head into the tunnel to Canada, from the Amtrak station. He recommends a viewing platform and / or trail that allows better access to the tunnel. Given this is an international train tunnel, in a residential area, I dont know that this is feasable or recommended.

The St.Clair tunnel connect Sarnia to Port Huron underground and underneath the river. I went on a school trip a long time ago thru the St Clair tunnel. It is interesting.

If you looked toward he water east, you can see the tunnel fromthe rail station. It is a good distance away.

CN employees are not railfan tolerant. However, I was able to catch a train entering and one leaving the tunnel from streetside and from the depot. The depot is closed during daylight hours and there are no facilities nearby. I spent three hours here to catch two trains. Would do it again. Wish I had known CN radio frequency before I arrived

You can only read the history on the Plaque and see the tracks heading in the direction of the tunnel. It is off limits for foot traffic.

We went to the train depot but nothing much was happening. We decided to head to 10th street and view it from the other direction. We had to park about 30 yards away from the viewing area. Be careful because some of the parking spaces are tow away zones if you're not a customer of one of the businesses. We went over where another gentlemen was sitting in a walker chair. We struck up a conversation and he was knowledgeable about the tunnel. He was a disabled Vietnam Vet and I thanked him for his service and welcomed him home. If you see him please do the same. It was about 3:40pm and he told us the next train would be passing through at 4:00pm. We could see the freight train, which would be passing through, sitting next to the station. We waited until 4:10pm. He told us the schedules are not exact and there must be a Canadian train coming through. Without a chair, I was getting a little tired so we left, continuing on our Port Huron adventure.

주변에 무언가 특별하다고 할 만한 장소는 없었다. 단지 캐나다로 넘어가는 엠버서더 브릿지를 보기 위해 방문하다가 보기에 적당한 곳. 그 이외에 특별히 이곳을 방문해야 할 이유 같은건 찾을 수 없었다.

My husband is a ferroquinologist (he loves trains)!!!!! When we babysit the grandkids we always take them to see the trains. It's especially cool to see them come out of the tunnel. Now they ask if they can go see them when they come over. It could be made into a tourist attraction if they would put some effort into it.

This is a great train watching spot! This is the gateway to Canada for Canadian National. You can't get very close to the tunnel, or you will be talked to by the border patrol or railroad police! The best place to watch trains enter the tunnel is at the Port Huron Amtrak station.

I grew up in Port Huron and always thought the tunnel was near Tunnel Street. Finally 40 years later I returned to Port Huron for a visit and was bound to find the Tunnel. Makes sense it is found near the Amtrac station. Interesting historical marker says that there was a plot during WWI to blow it up.
