Terrible, terrible experience with Paddle TC. My son and his fiancé rented paddle boards for an hour. It was a mildly windy day, with a mild Southern breeze. My son and his fiancé got out in the bay but the wind and waves kept pushing them further and further from the shore.
After about 30 minutes, when they should have been returning, we could not see them on the bay. The guys at Paddle TC said they could see them, and they were “fine.” They even told my wife to “chill.”
Needless to say, my son and his fiancé were NOT fine and the guys at Paddle TC had lost track of them and were looking at the wrong couple. They had been blown further out in the bay and could NOT get back in.
We called 911, and the good folks there, Traverse City Police Department, and Traverse City Fire Department helped us locate our son and his fiancé. They had been blown out by the wind, couldn’t get back to shore, and were picked up by a boat that they waved down. The TC Fire Chief said the conditions on the bay were deceiving.
Paddle TC was of NO help! The guys who worked there had NO clue of the conditions on the bay and made NO effort whatsoever to help us locate them. Our son and his fiancé were in distress and needed help! They did NOTHING but tell us to “chill.”
We will never, ever in a 1,000 years rent from Paddle TC again. Their uncaring, nonchalant, condensing attitude toward me and my wife during this ordeal was sad. They could have cared less what about what was going on.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. Please do not trust Paddle TC. They do not know anything about bay conditions and do not help if you need it.

Great experience! Staff was friendly and informative to me, an inexperienced kayaker!! So much fun-- there is a lovely little river that goes through Traverse City and you can kayak around the bay!!

Easy peasy to book a time. We wanted to change locations from Clinch Park to the state park on East Bay and had no problem making the switch. Just a quick email it was all set up. Paddle boarding was a blast!

The only day it didn't rain during our trip to TC was the day that we were about to leave. On the way out of town, we swing by the marina on a whim, and rented a double kayak to paddle around the bay. It was a lot of fun. The young man who helped us was very professional. Highly recommended.

We had such a great experience with Paddle TC! We booked the Loon-E Escape kayak/bike tour one morning and loved biking the TART trail so much we went back to rent bikes again the next day. The process with super easy and low key. Jack gave us a great recommendation to go to the Filling Station for lunch on our second day, which we really enjoyed. Prices were super reasonable and we had a great time. We recommended Paddle TC highly to another couple we met on our trip!

I treated my brother's family, along with my niece and nephew out for a bike ride this summer and they loved it.... It was about an hour ride and I'm glad that they enjoyed it...

My husband and I reserved online a double kayak for two hours. We had an easy check in process with clear instructions and help. The views are amazing and we loved having some control over where we went. The equipment was nice; definitely better than some kayaks/paddles/life jackets I’ve had at other rental spots. It was a great way to spend a few hours on the water!

Great service! Delivered 3 kayaks right to our beach! Reasonable price, on time, communication was prompt, explained everything! Had a great day exploring the bay. They made it so easy. Thank you.

Convenient bike rental. We followed the brewery map and had a lot of fun with it. Were given locks for the bikes too.

Rented bikes for 4 hours. Equipment was in great condition. Staff was very helpful. Highly recommend!

Do you allow dogs to join a kayak adventure?

Hello,
We do allow small dogs on the kayaks. Its best to call the booth to discuss your situation and dogs size/temperament before coming down 231-492-0223. We try to treat each situation on a case by case basis to ensure safety.

We have our own kayaks. Does Paddle TC offer shuttle service to the Boardman River and let us take out at their location. And can we leave our vehicle there?

We do have a shuttle service if the van and trailer is open it costs $10 per person.
