Sunset cruise on the tall ship.

The experience itself was great fun and very enlightening. The crew was outstanding, sharing with us their past experiences and why they were on the ship. The sunset was lovely and in my opinion this was well worth the cost.

Super fun!

My husband and I went on the 2 hour Moomer's ice-cream Manitou sail in Grand Traverse Bay, and thoroughly enjoyed it! The crew were very hard working and professional, but also took the time to chat with everyone and answer questions. Super fun experience, and we hope to do it again someday with our grandchildren along for even more fun!

The best end of summer trip

I use a power wheelchair and my daughter uses a wheelchair as well. The boat is very accessible, it was easy to board and we felt safe. A very nice trip.

Although we booked an evening dinner and sunset tour, we did not experience the sunset that we were expecting. The tour was fine, the title of sunset tour was a little misleading because we were done and back at the pier before any setting of the sun. The crew and captain did an excellent job and the dinner at Harrington's by the Bay was delicious. We did enjoy the tour but as it was an anniversary trip, it just wasn't what we were expecting for the "sunset" tour. The map provided for out of town patrons was also a little misleading. We parked, as suggested, in their parking area and "walked" to the dinner restaurant, which was quite far from what was pictured on their "map". We had to stop and ask for directions because it was so much farther than what was shown on their site map and it was well over 80degrees outside at the time of the walk to the restaurant. All in all we would rate this an average tour, just not up to what we expected. It should have told us to park at the restaurant and then drive to their parking area plus when advertised as a sunset tour, make it coincide with the setting of the sun hours for that day.

Sailing Fun for the Whole Family!

The Tall Ship Manitou is a great family adventure. It’s fun and safe for people of all ages. The staff is so friendly, the captain great & the time on the Grand Traverse bay is beautiful & breathtaking.

Tall Ship Manitou - A Memorable Adventure

One of the highlights of our Michigan adventure touring the state was Traverse City and in particular the Tall Ship Sailing on The Manitou. It was fun and exhilarating! Great for everyone including families with children. Ice cream was served under sunny skies and a breeze in your face. The crew is fun and engaging even inviting you to help hoist the sails. The price is more than fair. We would absolutely sail with this crew again! You will return home with wonderful memories!

We took a few days ahead of the Labor Day weekend to enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery in Traverse City. We very much enjoyed our sail on the Manitou in Grand Traverse Bay. Thank you to the captain and crew and musicians on board.

Step back to a slower time

We have taken some of the Windjammer trips several years ago and enjoyed experiencing the life on a tall ship. Today we returned for the brunch cruise. It was more crowded and eating the magnificent brunch on your lap was a little difficult. But the joy of riding the waves came back. The food was wonderful and crew attentive and entertaining. Definitely worth the effort.
