Wonderful treasure of 5 generations of the Folsom family! We only wish our tour could have been longer. Interesting stories and fascinating historic treasures.

Knowledgeable tour guide, friendly staff. Tour guide took time to answer all our questions. Took time to look at the lovely details of the house with us too. Top notch!!

This New England style home belonged to a prominent lumberman and Minnesota state senator. There are period rooms with American Empire & Louis XV revival furniture over looking the St. Croix River in the historic Angel Hill district. There are limited seasonal hours from Memorial Day weekend through the second weekend in October. It is open for the Taylors Falls Lighting Festival, the first weekend after Thanksgiving. Admission is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors over 65 and active military w/ID. Children ages 5-17 pay $4 and children age 4 and under as well as Minnesota Historical Society members are free.

Living close to this little gem is a blessing. I have been lucky enough to tour it at Christmas time, in the summer and on class trips. The staff is knowledgeable, the home is kept is excellent condition as are the grounds. I love the view-and wish the front porch were open for a little sitting and enjoying. Christmas is a must visit time-love all the trees and themes in the rooms. Really want to attend an After Dark event--but just never lines up on the calendar right! Someday!!!

The Folsom House is one of the better small historic sites that I have visited anywhere. The Tour is excellent, packed with Minnesota and Wisconsin frontier lore and artifacts. The site is exceedingly well preserved. Definitely worth your stop!

What a lucky find. My wife and I decided to go hiking at Interstate State Park in Taylor's Falls, MN. We always look on Trip Advisor for suggestions and it showed the Folsom House as one of the places to see in Taylor's Falls so we decided to check it out after our hike. The curator of the House, Chad, was a high spirited, passionate guide, which led to an awesome experience. There are dozens of hidden surprises within the tour and an after dark tour, if you dare. A beautiful setting, in a beautiful area, with an outstanding story told by an incredible guide.
