A short walk from other attractions and beautiful buildings in Downtown Jackson. We were here on Christmas day so everything was closed. But the building itself is beautifully built and well maintained. The area is clean and kept up with. We only saw one homeless person and he was minding his own business on a nearby bench. The area felt pretty safe and nice for a walk to get to know a little more of the cities downtown.

City hall is within walking distance to many other attractions. There is construction & it was closed to the public on the day we arrived. If you’re up for a 1-2 mile walk see all the attractions nearby.

We stopped for a short stroll on the grounds of the Jackson City Hall and then stepped inside for a quick look. The classic beauty of the building is enhanced by the rose garden on the grounds and the statue of President Andrew Jackson. The statue stands in the midst of a fountain that was not working at the time of our visit. If taking a walk around downtown Jackson, the City Hall is in close proximity to the governor’s mansion and the old capitol museum.

This is a historically significant business location that is the seat of government for the City of Jackson. It contains the offices of the City Council, the Mayor, the City Clerk and the City Council meeting room.

I go to the city council meetings as often as possible. Yes, they do have a ramp but the building is not the most disability sensitive place. I had friends with me that were visually impaired and there was not braille signage, so elevation/terrain change markers, no large print signage. A beautiful building but it needs some upgrades and the statue of Andrew Jackson needs to be taken down for obvious reasons.

If you're in Jackson, take a few minutes to see City Hall. It's a beautiful building, and there's a great statue of Andrew Jackson. There isn't much to see inside. The security guard let us see the meeting room. There's a memorial to fallen firefighters next door.

This being the town where I was born, I want to know everything about it that I can. City Hall is one of the most historic buildings in town. The architecture is beautiful and the surrounding grounds are meticulously kept. A great visiting experience.

I didnt go inside of the city hall, but the outside is something. And there is a really nice statue of Andrew Jackson on the grounds. Worth a look and a few photos.
