This is a great place to visit.I enjoy walking in this park as it is so peaceful and lots to see. It is a must when visiting Oxford.

This is one of the best places to come for a jog, a walk, to relax and enjoy the scenery, to bring your pet, and or to bring your kids and let them run around. It is so beautiful. There are benches throughout that allow you to just sit and take in the view. There are some amazing sculptures to check out. You will love this park. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 start raining is because throughout this giant park there are no bathrooms that are open. This is a huge inconvenience especially when you got children. I had to drive to the nearest shell station to use the bathroom. They could add something like Porter potty’s. Other than that it’s amazing.

Lamar Park was the vision of Pat Lamar, the first and only female Mayor of Oxford, Mississippi. It was designed as an outdoor arboretum to be enjoyed for its greenery, lovely walking trails, garden features and placid lake. There isn't a baseball field on the property, no tennis courts, no basketball courts, no barbecue pavilions, no children's playground, not even a picnic table. No skateboarding or alcohol is allowed. All dogs must be on a leash at all times. No formal organized events are permitted. That's the way Pat Lamar wanted it, a green space with flowers and trees and water, a place for the public to enjoy nature. Locals enjoy strolling through the property and admiring the sculptures and quiet beauty of the landscape.

I always enjoy walking around the park. You see a lot of families and people walking their dogs. Very open space so I feel safe when I’m alone

A pretty place for a brisk walk or run. The park has these little hills that you can run up and down too. There is a pretty lake and we saw a turtle in it. Nice unique sculptures spread around the park too. The photos that we got at sunset were fantastic.

If you like to be outdoors walking or running, this park is for you. The atmosphere is awesome. From a beautiful lake to flowers all around. It is also just a good place to go and sit and enjoy the surroundings.

Park is clean and well cared for. Trails are paved and in good shape. Garbage and recycling can are available, so are doggy poop bags. Water fountains for people and pets.

Beautiful local park with geese, turtles, and some unique pieces of modern art. Great place to take a leisurely stroll or run a bit. The largest loop is about 1.49 miles. A few laps makes for a great running route.

This has a paved measured walking path, pretty view from one side of a small pond, play area for kinds, picnic tables, and art. Restrooms are available seasonally. Not all patrons obey the signs requiring dogs to be on leash and to pick up after them.
