Big and little John were great tour guides. Very informative and good fun getting to tour the factory and taste all their ciders!

Had a wonderful time today on the tour very good and knowledgeable guide. My only question is why do they charge more in there own cider farm shop then I would pay in a supermarket?

Went to the Thatchers tour today and it was excellent. The guide Mark was very knowledgeable and answered all questions, made it a very enjoyable tour. Great value for money, good couple of hours , including tour and tasters at end. Then went to shop and tasted a couple more of the varieties that they have on offer and came away with a few bargains.
Just like to add we had to meet in the The Railway bar which is on the complex and it is a lovely bar, all staff were friendly.
Would highly recommend.

Fabulous couple of hours spent doing the factory tour. Excellent value for money, first class tour guide Sally, so knowledgeable and clearly spoken and a great sense of humour! The cider was good too!!!🤩

This was a gift from my wife and she came too; in fact we were just six couples, so it was intimate enough to hear our guide and be able to comment and ask questions. Phil was extremely knowledgable about the history, processes and products. He paced it perfectly, giving us time to take things in and enjoy the atmosphere, waiting, for example, for a load of apples to be delivered.
Obviously, there are times when things are down, so we didn’t see the canning line running, but that’s life!
The tour lasted just over two hours including the sampling, which was more than ample, introducing the flagship brands and some less well-known products.
The Railway Inn is part of Thatchers and, I’ve reviewed it elsewhere, is excellent - not pub cheap, but very, very good food and friendly service.
The Cider Shop is the inevitable downfall after such a good tour and lunch, as your pockets will need to be deep!

Thatchers open day was extremely well attended and I suspect the numbers planned for and the amount that attended gave the organisers some challenges.
When you attend an event like this provided by a well known local and nationally respected business it should be no surprise that there are going to be queues.
All of the staff we met were happy and eager to engage to make the day as good as possible which is a credit to this family run business.

Real shame so busy didn't stay. Well organised but queue to bars etc too long. Shame people didn't understand the simple instructions of NOT to bring dogs, definitely not fair to take them to such a busy environment . But we went to Woodborough in winscombe and had a fab day

Me and mother decided it would be a nice idea to go to their open day 2022. The open day started at around 12 and we left our house at 12.15 in hopes of getting there for around 12.45-1 so we would have a nice amount of time to spend there.
Nope. This was nothing like what we'd expected. We met the queue for parking at around 12.30 and had to sit in this queue for about 2 hours before we were actually told how long it would take for us to be able to park.
By this point, I am on the verge of a panic attack as I am very stressed and wanted to turn back to go home. We were then directed down to an orchard where we were able to park our car. But still trying to get to the orchard was a hassle as no one knew where they were going.
We had to take a little walk to be able to get to the site but people were walking out by the time we had managed to park.
Once we had made it to the open day we were instantly met with a huge crowd of people. I have anxiety and for the amount of people there I became very overwhelmed and almost had another panic attack. Everything had a queue including the 2 sets of toilets. There were huge crowds everywhere and it didn't look organised at all.
For the little amount of stuff there to do it was very disappointing to have queued for so long to do so little. Both the tractor tours and tours in the factory had a queue of about 45 minutes so we decided by that point there was nothing here to be able to do due to the amount of people and how overwhelming it was.
We both knew it was going to be busy but it shocked me that nothing had been planned for such a big capacity of people.
Overall, very disappointed and the lack of organisation was laughable.

This is a fabulous and very informative tour. The guides are spot on with their warmth and knowledge.
The tour takes in every aspect of cider production and is timed to perfection.

The shop is lovely,however the bottled ciders are expensive compared to supermarket prices.
You expect the price to be cheaper as there's no distribution charges for buying from their factory shop .
The plus factor is their draught cider is excellent value and good quality scrumpy.

How long are the vouchers valid for after purchase?

There is a local pub in the next village call ed the woodborough inn Winscombe or a premier lodge at Sidcot both within about a 10 minute drive of thatchers cider
