“Great place close to home”

We love this park

This is our second time camping at this MO state park. Our teenage boys begged to come back again this year. They had a blast riding the trails. I don’t understand the 1 star reviews at all. This park is great. Clean restrooms and showers. I used the laundry facilities daily. Everyone was very friendly. We will definitely be back again, even though it is almost a 6 hour drive for us.

I love it!
I honestly love going to St. Joe mainly for ATV riding. Especially in the summer it's 100 of amounts of fun! I recommend it for families and friends. The trails have the right amount of adventure and challenge in them. I have gone here two or 3 times now. Just in different time.

Encase you do plan on going. Just know you have to have orange flags for your off road vehicle. That does cost money, I am not sure how much. Helmets are of course required.

Awesome Park
This is a huge state park. It is known for it off road activities, but the park is lovely to visit as well. It offers beautiful lake settings as well.

St. Joe Park is awesome
The park is home to Mineral Area Modeling Association MAMA who hosts and maintains the flying field year round , the MAMA club was started in 1973 and has been a constant fixture in the park since about 1978 . come join us if the gate is open we are most likely there flying RC airplanes and helicopters . you are welcome to bring your rc stuff {if the gate is locked you can obtain key at park office} and fly with us or if you need help check our FB page come spend a day with us bring the whole family

Excellent park. Supports ATV and dirt bikes. Great walking and equestrian trails. Natural and paved.

Excellent park. Best of only two in Mo that supports dirt bikes and ATVs. Staff is friendly, but expect you to follow rules. bathrooms and showers are clean. If you hate dirt bikes or ATVs, do not come here and complain. (Because you’re in the wrong place)
Plenty of walking, equestrian, hiking trails. As well as two different lakes for swimming. Firewood isn’t cheap if you are camping. Probably want to bring your own.

One of the Best Bike Trails
I ride the St. Joe Bike Trail several times a year, and in the summer several times a week. This is a paved bike trail, and cyclists can choose an 11 mile or 14 mile loop. The trail is divided into sections, so one can also ride shorter trips by going from point A to B and back. The hills can be daunting, but after each hill is a smooth sailing glide down.
The trail takes riders through piney glades, rock formations, more desert looking environments, and even past old mining quarries. You'll also pass over the Flat River on a plank bridge. You may see deer and other wildlife, as well as flora and fauna.
This trail is good for both training and fun. I'm glad I live nearby so I can enjoy this trail often!

Terrible park. You can't do ANYTHING there. Staff was very rude. We left shortly after we arrived. There are friendlier state parks in Missouri, St. Joe isn't one of them. Don't waste your time.

Great trails for everyone.

This park has a great 11 mile paved loop for riding bicycles. The loop has a couple of spurs for various start points. It also has a terrific network of equestrian trails as well as a huge area for off road vehicles.
