The trails seem safe during early daylight but not sure about evening and they could use some more gravel on the trail. They were a bit muddy

If you are looking for something off the beaten path - this is it. This is not a well traveled trail, but if you want a quiet hike you've found it. Not the most scenic walk. But a good place to hike in solitude.

This lovely, wooded trail makes a nice morning/afternoon hike. Wear proper shoes! At the back end of the trail, along the MO River, there are nice benches (thank you Eagle Scout Dylan) to sit on and take in the scene and sand. The wildlife includes birds, squirrels and I saw a snake. It's peaceful and very pretty!

If you're not looking for it you will drive right by the turn off and entrance to Bangert Island. In the heart of summer the trails are surrounded by lush trees and greenery. The trails see wear from hikers and bikers alike. It can get a bit muddy after a spring or summer dousing (wear appropriate footwear). The trails along the Missouri River afford views of the bridge, Hollywood Casino, and opposing woodlands.

It's a very natural and forested trail and wildlife area. Lots of trees and very little parking. But it was a nice area to stroll through for wildlife viewing.
