Walking paths and picnic tables by beautiful Flathead Lake. I have limited mobility and still was able to get down close to the Lake and enjoy time with friends. Many people were boating, swimming, paddle boarding and more on the lake. Easy access.

Since we had out of state plates, we had to pay $8 for entry fee. But all in all we paid $8 for a million dollar view! Park near the boat ramp and walk up to the left. Huge flat rocks with benches to sit on, that go down a bank to the water, provide a great place to sit, relax, enjoy the view, have a snack, scroll on Facebook or whatever. I actually listened to a church service while I gazed upon the beautiful calm water. It’s an awesome place.

Beautiful park. Lots to do in and around it. Great food near. Guided fishing within minutes hiking in the park.

We are so glad that we asked about short hikes in the Bigfork area. Wayfarers Park came highly recommended and the Harry Horn Day use area was just perfect for a quick morning walk before heading on to Glacier Park. The forest was filled by bird song, the sound of the wind, flowers, trees, and amazing vistas of Flathead lake. Plenty of parking and a nice small ranger station too. For those looking to camp, that is also available with reservations.

our campsite was not as shown on reserve America website photo, practically on top of our neighbors with no trees or shrubs to shield view or noise, the lake was not visible or particlularly close. Friday night there was a loud party with hooting hollering drunk fools and loud obnoxious music, Saturday night the same. It turned out to be the Flathead Lake Resort next door. Nothing the campground hosts could do about it. Saturday they were shooting guns there and had our dogs terrified. I would never return.
The close location to Bigfork was convenient, and there were nicer spaces for tent only along the lake. Still Big Arm a much nicer campground.

We went for a few hours for our kids to play in the water. They enjoyed it, but it was cold. I think it would have been nice to find a day use area where we could have rented a paddle board or kayak though. There were picnic benches and bathrooms so it was a nice place to spend a bit of time.

The location is in credible, the camp ground is small but nice. But the best part is it’s next to Flathead lake and I went for a swim. However they decided to close the bathrooms down the day I arrived, so no shower. So I basically paid for a parking spot since I was just camping in my van.
I was very disappointed.

If you are hoping to snag a picnic table near the water, get here early! We opted to take hike the long trail, which had a great overlook view of the lake. Awesome day use area, it was full up day we were there.

Fun place to go. However, woods bay up the highway a ways is nicer and easier to access due to having more parking for public visiting.

If you are going just to hit the trails it is free. Take in the beauty and views while you walk. We had a Bald Eagle leave its nest from a close by tree. A once in a life time experience!
