Drove by to check out the dam. Quite spectacular with great views from the top. Worth stopping by if in the general vicinity.

The dam was very nice and the area was extremely clean. They had fire stoves to have hot dogs or what ever, and it was a great place to hike around. The store wasn't open, but we were fine with that. Lots of eagles in the area.

The Dam and Lake Koocanusa behind it are very impressive. Unfortunately, the Visitor's Center was closed, and there were no tours of the power plant. There was a very nice playground not too far from the Visitor's Center.

We really looked forward to the visitor's center, but, like so many federally operated locations this was still closed due to COVID even when the state of Montana had lifted all sanctions. It is a wonderful view from the visitor's center, but unfortunately we could not gain additional knowledge about the dam.

We rode our bikes from Libby up to the Dam and enjoyed spectacular views, great bathrooms but were disappointed the Visitor's Center was not open due to COVID. To be expected, many visitor's centers on our trip were closed but that is not the primary reason to visit this dam and lake. Very quiet and had hardly any other visitors to the viewing platform.

On a road trip around Glacier NP, it's a lovely drive along the lakeside to the dam. You can drive across but there's really nothing more than a quarry and workings over there. Worth the stop if passing, not a destination in itself

The only way you can grow crops in Montana is through the slow, controlled release of river water, thus the need for this dam.

It was after Labor Day so we missed the tours. We walked around in awe of the dam. We even saw a few bats sleeping on the walls. Look for them!

In all our years living in Montana, my husband had never visited the Libby Dam area, so this was the year. The Visitor Center is well-staffed and they're very knowledgeable. We learned a lot.

One of our first stops when visiting Montana. Went to visitor center and was kindly greeted by two volunteers who offered great information about the dam and surrounding area. The visitor center contains hands on activities, displays, a small gift shop, and clean restrooms. We were offered to take the free one hour tour of the dam which we are glad we did. The guide was very kind and did a great job. Going inside the dam was a new learning experience and we especially enjoyed the close up views of the bald eagles and the views from the glass elevator room. If you have the time to visit and take the tour it is very informative and worth your time.
