This was the highlight of our trip!!!!! My mother and I went to Livingston for a mother-daughter trip. Among other things we wanted to go fly fishing. Neither of us had any experience, but had watched my grandfather enjoy it over his lifetime. We wanted to connect with him, nature and learn the skill and art. Will, our guide, has his work cut out for him. He didn't treat us like a bunch of "silly tourists." He truly taught us the basics, we caught multiple fish, and we had the most fun, beautiful trip down the river. I know these guys will provide serious anglers a phenomenal trip, but I will be forever grateful that they were able to create an exceptional experience for two novices. It was worth every penny....it was priceless!

We had a great trip with Montana Fly Fishing Guides. The planning and logistics were very easy. They were very flexible.
Jesse, our guide for the day, was tremendous. Very knowledgeable and experienced. It was my stepson's first time fly fishing and he made him feel truly comfortable and was very patient
We fished the Yellowstone and that is a very special river.
I highly recommend this firm and Jesse as a guide. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

What an amazing day with our guide Lance ! I highly recommend him for a float trip down the Yellowstone river. First of all , his boat was the nicest one on the river. It was handcrafted by friend of his and was just a beautiful piece of craftsmanship . It did not look like any of the other boats we saw out there and was also comfortable for a long day on the river. We lucked out with perfect weather and Lance took us on a gorgeous stretch of the river . We were beginners and he gave us a lesson at the beginning and gently guided us throughout the day. He was very patient and we were able to land several fish including brown , rainbow and cutthroat trout! The lunch he supplied was tasty and even included some of his hand made venison sausage. What a great Montana experience!! We would love to come back some day and do it all over again . For those of you who have never fly fished , you will be doing yourself a disservice not to watch some videos and practice a little before your trip. It’s not something that’s easy to just pick up on the first try. The whole process from the start was easy and Eric was very responsive to any questions I had before the trip. Thank you Eric and thanks again Lance !

Excellent experience overall! Carlisle was an excellent, educational, and welcoming guide. Caught quite a few good fish on the Missouri River on our trip. If you’re teetering between a half day or a full day trip, the full day trip is the way to go. It was a lot of fishing, but well worth it in the end! I would highly recommend these guys to anyone! Class act for sure!

Had a wonderful time with Lance, our guide and teacher, on the Yellowstone River. We learned all the basics and even caught a fish each. It was great that their team shuttled the truck and boat trailer downstream so it was waiting for us at the end. We will definitely return to Paradise and to go with Montana Fly Fishing Guides again.

Fly fishing in the Bozeman Montana area. With family and/or friends it is the most exciting way to spend a summer vacation. I have traveled from southern CA to
Montana for more than a dozen summers now. I will do it again for 4 months in 2021.
I just can't think of a more fun way to spend a summer than fly fishing The Madison,
The Yellowstone and The Missouri. You will need a guide. I have used many different
ones over the years. All were good solid professionals. One or two stood out as the best of the best. John Kirk of Belgrade MT is one of the very best. Over the years I have used him 25 or 30 times I suppose. It's hard to imagine fishing without him now.
If you are looking for a fun filled day and a fabulous fishing experience I highly recommend John Kirk.

My dad and I took our first fishing trip out to Montana a few weeks back. Eric and his team at the Yellowstone Valley Lodge were very helpful in assisting us with planning our trip. We went with the 4 night 3 day fishing package. Our guide, Jesse, was awesome and knowledgeable. We had some experiencing fly fishing in the East but we were in new territory and Jesse put us on a lot of fish! We fished the Yellowstone river on a float the first day and spent two days on the Boulder to do some raft fishing. Don't pass on the Boulder! Very scenic and it fished really well throughout July. Such an incredible experience that I could share with my dad.

I am a novice at fly fishing and spent three days with Eric as my guide. Not only did Eric teach me a great deal about fly fishing, I also learned so much about the Montana ecology, entomology, and biology. Each of the three days Eric challenged me to improve upon my casting skills and other fundamentals. The overall experience was fantastic and has ignited a passion inside of me for fly fishing. I am not one to ever write reviews on line but this outstanding adventure was one of the best trips I have had in many, many years.
