This is a lookout point in the city and one can gaze out over the desert and contemplate how hard is was for the pioneers to recreate their eastern way of life out west.

You look out where the silver mines were and the incredible mountains are in the distance. It is a landscape with stark beauty. And you learn about the silver business.

Some good views here of the desert landscape and hills and one can imagine what the silver seekers encountered before the city developed. A big view.

Stopped in here to use the restroom the other day and to check out all the historical information. Nice little area here with plenty of info about the history of Virginia City, Silver mining, cemeteries and the like. Worth your stop. Good views here also.

This is a great vantage point to see quite a long way in most directions. From this location you can get an idea of just how difficult it must have been to get up to Virginia City in the day and just how desolate the area is. I can't imagine how hard life was at that time. The grave markers also showed me how hard life must have been at that time by the number of people that died very young.

We visited both Silver Terrace Cemetery as well as went to the overlook area.

I didn't spend a lot of time there, but it provided a good view of the countryside. We were a bit short on time and the town was quite busy and parking was a challenge.

Beautiful scenery throughout the area. They call it the "100 mile view" and on a clear day it's indeed a VERY far view. Must see!

What a beautiful area with such scenery and of course the cemetary. It's at the north end of town, but worth the walk as you're going to go down the main street anyway. lots of great tombstones.

This is the cemetery at the end of town. It has many sections to explore. We wandered around here for a couple of hours. Worth the visit.
