One of the nation's first (if not THE first) free library, it will soon be expanded. Currently fully open, with wide-ranging selections and terrific displays! Highly recommended.

Not only is this the first public library in the USA supported by taxation but it is one of the best. All of the librarians go out of their way to suggest, locate and reserve books and are always friendly with conversation on even the hottest days!

This is the first library in the nation supported by public funds (tax)--there's a plaque saying as much. And it has wifi, quiet places to work, a nice children's section with read aloud, all the things you'd like in a library. Nice and small. I drop by to work there from time to time.

While this is a small library, it is up to date with WiFi, comfortable reading chairs, computers for the public and a friendly staff.

From the website this looks like it would be a very impressive library, but the actual street front entrance and inside are ordinary and the inside looks like any other old town library. The book shop next store that is associated with the library was a cute little store to book browse in.
