I had to take a drive today and went to the Hacklebarney Farm for some cider doughnuts and fresh apple cider that they make on premise. I have been coming here since I was a kid and it is always nice that things don’t change. The building still looks the same as it did when I was a kid.
The food here is still good and the cider doughnuts here are excellent. What is nice this to walk around the farm and see all the crops and fields. The homes have been creeping closer and closer to the farm but it is still beautiful to look at in the fall.

Saw this farm recommended online and we’re always up to try new places. Located in Chester, Hacklebarney farm really feels like an authentic little spot. Parking was easy. There’s a few different lots. We came in and parked in the small lot right near everything. It’s free admission. There’s a shack to order hot dogs and I highly recommend. They are hot dogs soaked I apple cider with apple cider sauerkraut and beans. It was delicious. A hot dog with sauerkraut was $5. Reasonable to me. There’s a cute shop with lots of goodies. Donuts, cider, pies, jams, candles, etc. I thought the shop wasn’t too unreasonably priced either. There’s an apple orchard, sunflower field, corn maze, ice cream stand, and pumpkin patch. We got 4 normal sized pumpkins and a tiny little one and it was $93 which I thought was insane. Even the people around us were all shocked and rethinking their pumpkins too. Other than that I thought it was a nice place to visit and their strength is their unique food! They’re very dog friendly!

Cider hot dogs, cider kraut, cider beans, cider donuts, pastries, pies, blends, lunches and everything in between is phenomenal! The golden retrievers are also worth the visit alone. Highly recommend!!! Everything is fresh baked that day!! Wow!

This is a lovely little stop and a nice drive to get to it. The cider mill has a little shop with pastries, baked goods, gifts, and of course cider. There are tables and places to sit outside after picking up the good stuff, as well as a fire pit. We pulled over for a bit, got some tasty pastries and warm cider (powdered sugar everywhere!) and were able to hold off on lunch for awhile.

My aunt and I were touring around historical sites in the Chester area, and we stopped at Hacklebarney Farm for some lunch. What a nice experience. The farm is so picturesque. From the parking lot you can see the rolling hills and the fields of the farm.
In the farmhouse stand, they have a complete bakery and a small counter to order food for lunch. We toured the store and order a chicken quesadilla with cheese with salsa on the side, a cider doughnut and a fruit pocket for dessert. Everything was delicious and we were able to eat it outside on the picnic tables near the farmhouse. Talk about a nice, relaxing afternoon.
We talked with the owners of the farm and played with their dogs and walked around the farm. It is such a nice place to spend the afternoon and don't miss visiting their bakery. It is such a nice place to spend the afternoon.

Pies! Cider Donuts! Fresh Fruit Dumpling! & so much more. Country store filled with great gifts and always a warm and friendly greeting. Beautiful farm and so worth the ride. Love everything about this place. This time I visited in June for lunch but have also stopped here in the fall - which is also an amazing time to visit.

Stopped on the way home from Hacklebarney State Park which is just down the road.

Went specifically for the pumpkin picking but their patch was already completely picked. All that was left were rotting. At $1 a lb you pay quite a bit for a medium size pumpkin. Better to just buy at supermarket or walmart. Lines for the tiny store and hot dog stand were very long. We bought a couple of pies that were very good. Didn't want to wait on line for a hot dog. The corn maze was fun. The cider press area is open for viewing which was interesting.
I would say that this place is much better going first thing in the morning and early in the season. My visit was average at best.

Back again for our 30th year. Never miss a year at Hacklebarney. Only place in NJ to get Baked Apple Dumplings filled with fresh apples. Not too sweet so you can taste the apples. Amazing! A must try if you stop as you won't find these anywhere else as I will be back many more times during the season. Their apple pie is also the best I've ever had out of any farm in nj, and I've been to most. The price is higher but worth every penny. Cider is pressed fresh and delicious as I always buy a gallon on my first trip of the season. It is very pricey but delicious.
I hope this family run farm stays in the family for another 30 years and continues sharing their fresh baked goods, fresh pressed cider, aples and cider dogs.

The staff was so warm and welcoming, eager to help. I was surprised how beautiful the store was, with all kinds of goodies, desserts, spices, candles, Jams, hot cider etc. makes for a great gift!!!
We were hosting our Operation toys for tots and this farm donated 100 cider donuts, people who attended our event raved on how delicious the donuts were.
Be sure to visit.

Honestly I’m not sure had I seen this earlier I would know since we literally just left there. I did other things that we’re gluten free.
