I was not expecting to love this place as much as I do. Mind-boggling amount of history happened right there. Everything is presented in a fun, enthusiastic manner.
They have different activities throughout the year. We really enjoyed the model train show. They even have trains that children can operate themselves. We can't wait to go back again!

We had recently heard about this place and decided to stop by. You need to calculate at least 2 hours, just to look through all the collections! Very friendly staff everywhere that are more than willing to explain everything you see.
Now, this is not a high tech super duper modern museum, but a collection of little collections run by clubs. But that makes it more special!

Discussions of the vintage radio and computer sections were fascinating, with volunteers providing an excellent discussion of the exhibits. A visit to the Diana site, demonstrating live observations of the sun (the moon was not visible yet) showed very interesting science using a historical radio installation. This is not your usual museum and is well worth the visit!

What a gem! This museum is fantastic! An absolute must see! From the evolution of computers and technology to military vehicles and model trains, we spent an afternoon learning about them all.I highly recommend!

Our kids really enjoyed this place. The guides were extremely knowledgable and friendly. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time . The vintage computer room was fascinating!

This is not to be missed. Get ready to spend 3 to 4 hours to explore local technology history. I loved this off the radar museum! The local staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful! Have fun and be curious.....

Lots of 20th century military and civilian electronics plus historic telephone equipment, real computers throughout history, model trains of all scales, military vehicles all housed mostly indoors. Easy parking, easy access, nice grounds, housed in an old military facility. Reserve roughly 1 1/2 hours to see it all. Lots of staff to explain each display. A hidden gem in New Jersey

We went to this little known gem and were really surprised at how much we enjoyed this museum. Great way to pass a few hours and learn lots of interesting things. $7.00 for adults (no senior discounts) and $4.00 for kids. All sorts of interesting things to see and do from antique communications to radar to computers. Lots of interesting vintage military vehicles, weapons and history. Interesting vintage radio and TV section and hands on electronics rooms. WWI/WWII miniatures room, shipwreck displays, model trains layout, African America military heritage room, Marconi history, WW II electronics rooms and more. They show each as separate museums but they are all part of the same complex and museum. The employees (all unpaid volunteers) were both friendly and knowledgeable. They helped make the day!
Now the down side---->the buildings and display areas REALLY need to be repaired and updated. They are a mess! This could really be a main museum and attraction in New Jersey but is in TERRIBLE disrepair. The buildings are from the 1940's and look like nothings been done for upkeep since then. The odor of the ladies toilet could be smelled down the hall and the condition disgraceful. It's the birthplace of radar and many other innovations and deserves better care. Sad! Sad!! Sad!!!

Interesting historical museum that captures the development of technology and products in the region

This is a charming museum that targets technology from the late 1800s to 1970s very interesting place and worth the trip. I learned a lot and was surprised how much was developed in this area. It was the silicon valley of its day.

If your bored and looking for something to do with the family,or even just by yourself. Don’t want to spend a lot of money, but keep busy for a few hours, you like museums, interested in nostalgia, or communications, history and the military too, this is a great place to go. It’s in a location you would never expect and could never find it unless you knew it was there. You would never drive by it unless you lived in the neighborhood. Old unassuming buildings on a former military base, house all sorts of artifacts that actually fit perfectly into its surroundings and it shouldn’t be any different. Everything from old radios, electronics, old music and communication systems, sunkin parts of ships, military equipment, even real live military vehicles. The walk takes you through different eras through a maze of rooms that seem endless. It’s very easy to lose track of time and where you are at. When you think your done, your lead outside on a path to more buildings. Young children will find it fascinating, but i could see jaded teenagers being bored. Its just a five dollar donation, unless that has changed. You can either take the free guided tour or do it yourself, or both. Plenty of free parking on site, because most people don’t knows it’s there. You usually have the place to yourself which is great. I’m surprised schools don’t use it for day trips. If you go in the summer it’s only a five minute ride to the beach. Check it out, there’s something interesting for everyone.
