My husband and I came here with our friends and their two children (5 & 7). It was the perfect thing to do for kids their age. The water park opened earlier than the regular park, so we stopped there first. It's geared towards smaller children, so teenagers would be bored. But it gave the little ones something to enjoy. The park had plenty to offer for kids that age. The 5 year old needed a parent to go on stuff with her more often than not, but enjoyed it. We thought the value for the day was well worth it, and the kids couldn't even do the whole park. I would recommend to anyone that has 5-9 year olds. We didn't find understaffing to be an issue. And all the rides seemed to be running except for a few. But it didn't deter the kids at all.

My adult children and young grandchildren (ages 13 - 3) all went today and were very disappointed. The lines were extremely long (which was expected) but a majority of the rides were not working (not expected). So on one of the tractor rides with 8 tractors only 2 were working. The staff was unhelpful and nasty. It was a very disappointing trip.

We are sorry we did not meet your expectations. All of our rides were operational on the date of your visit, however a ride operator can only operate so many vehicles safely at the same time. We regret to hear your review about our staff as we usually receive great compliments about the staff. We thank you for your feedback and will review with our management team.

Visited diggerland during spring break April 2022 with kids 6 and 4. We had been meaning to come for some time but were slightly delayed with the pandemic, etc. we were very excited, especially my 4 year old son.
Our day was pretty good. The kids had a great time. The 2 adults were very frustrated by the length of the lines, the frequency of people cutting into lines, the nickel and diming everywhere, and the crazy low ride capacities.
I don’t mind waiting in lines, but the lines at diggerland are the longest and slowest I’ve ever waited on at any amusement park. (They’ve unseated summer season sesame place!) we waited nearly an hour for the backhoe ride experience. One backhoe was operating with a capacity of three people at a time for the entire park of construction crazy kids. We waited over an hour to ride one of the 4 functioning excavators for a packed park. Staff reported the rest (over half!) “broken.” We waited nearly 30 minutes to ride the scissor lift. There is one at the park, with a ride capacity of 5 people per ride. I wanted my skid steer loving kids to get to ride them, but we couldn’t stomach another nearly hour long wait. It took 6-8 minutes for the solo ride attendant just to buckle in kids for every round on the merry go round. Then the ride, then several minutes of unbuckling. It was truly maddening. I joked about sesame place but at diggerland I realized how important shows and other attractions are at theme parks - without them crowds have nowhere to go other than to build long, long lines and wait for rides for ages.
Sure, places are understaffed. Maybe that’s the case. All staff we encountered were friendly and doing their best. The park seems poorly managed more than poorly staffed. They are either overselling tickets, not investing in additional attractions they need for the capacity they are admitting, not maintaining the rides well (as in the many reportedly broken down excavators) or seriously struggling to attract staff.
There is almost no shade in the park which was fine in April but would be brutal in the summer. No outside food, even individually packaged kid type snacks, are admitted. One bottle of water per person only. I had read about the food and packed our lunch and was glad we did. We got a very close parking spot and did lunch in the car for a chance to sit and a break from the sun. Parking is ‘free’ but tickets are nearly $50 a pop, so I am confident we paid for that parking in the ticket price.
Again, the kids had a great day because they didn’t realize how much they actually missed out on. I LOVE the theme and the park has so much potential. I’d like to give it another shot maybe at a lower crowd time than spring break to try the attractions we couldn’t get to due to waits, but with admission at $200 for a family of 4, I’m honestly not sure if we will be back. There’s no way I’d visit during the summer to basically make runs back and forth to the car to replenish water as we sweated in the heat. I don’t feel that we had a $200 experience today.

We are glad to hear your kids had a great time. We are sorry you visited on our busiest day of Spring Break. Those lines are abnormal for our park. We are sorry by the line cutting, that is abnormal in our park as well, but was present on the day of your visit. Our rides are real construction equipment so throughput can be slower, but we do have higher capacity rides where lines move much faster. We are glad to hear you appreciated our staff. We have been growing and expanding since we opened in 2014 and our park is twice as big as when it opened. We have sunshade structures that are being installed in the park for shade for the warmer days. We really appreciate your feedback and will review how we can improve.

A late season run with the kids. Diggerland was a blast. Good, clean fun with no crowds. Staff was scarce but friendly and helpful. Almost every ride was open with zero lines. I’ll be back next year at the same time.

The park was maybe 20% capacity, but the waiting was about half hour per ride. The Operaters were slow moving, and only some of the tractors were in use. Some rides only had one! Disappointed. I was there 5 hours in the park only and went on 10 rides.

Ruchel Friedman, thank you for your review. Since we are a construction theme park, the experience takes a bit longer for the ride operator to give instruction and then for our guests to operate actual construction equipment. We have many different experiences in our park. For equipment that you get to operate and drive, we will operate between 3 and 8 vehicles per ride. On rides where you get to ride the ride, we have between 4 and 16 seats. We are not sure how you determined our capacity, but some days you can walk on every ride without waiting and on other days of higher crowd volume, you may have to wait a bit for certain attractions.

Overall, if you have not visited and have young kids you should take a trip and visit Diggerland. I have a 9 and 4-year-old and both kids enjoyed themselves. The kids really enjoyed the water slide as well (new to us since the last visit many years ago). I think what kids most enjoy about Diggerland is the opportunity to "drive" the many machines. There are not many places like it!

We’ve been wanting to take my truck loving son to Diggerland for a while now. At first, he was too short for the rides and then there was the pandemic, of course. We left my two year old daughter at home with grandparents and just took my five year old son. He had a blast! Our timing was perfect. We went the week before public schools ended for the summer. We arrived right at opening (noon for rides and 10:00 for the water park). There weren’t many people in the park at all. We stayed for about three hours and got on @11-12 rides. (We did not do the water park.) The lines weren’t too bad. There were a few rides we walked right on. The two longest lines were for the skid steers and dumper trucks. Those lines were SO slow. My son loved the excavators. That was his favorite ride. There is some shade in the park, which is nice. They have umbrellas and canopies throughout. They also have fans with some misting water. We didn’t eat at the park or shop at the store. It was a bit pricey to get into the park. For the three of us, we paid @$150. I did notice that kids under a certain height were free as well as non-riding people over 65 years old. We had a great time, but it’s not a park we would visit more than once a year. I might even do every other year.

Small theme park, but good enough to cover the entire park in 7 hours. Kids liked the water main, spun dizzy and digger. But not much other activities. Rope walk was good for adults..Food(Quesadillas) taste was not great..

what is a good age for children there? we have ages 1to 9. is there something there for all ages? what is the ideal age?

It goes more by height than age at 42” the child can ride/control mostly everything on their own or with a parent. My son is 4 some of the equipment (stationary trucks) he could do on his own however definitely needed our assistance to drive the trucks without crashing. 3 crashes and they take you off we did not even risk it bcse he wasn’t ready to drive a skid steer on his own! At 36” a child can ride nearly everything with parent as well. The website lists all the rides and the height restrictions. I’m not sure if there is much of anything for your 1 year old though.
Are those trucks or cars are hard for a 7 yrs old to drive on his own?

I would think it would be less busy on Sunday, plus they stay open until 7 both days (unless they have different holiday hours). We went at 2 on a Sunday and it really emptied out by 5 so we didn't have any lines later in the day.

I've seen some rough reviews of how busy it is and poor employee attitudes.
We're wanting to take our 4 year old, we'll be coming all the way from Ohio so I want to make the trip worth it.
When is the least busy time to visit? Any specials we could take advantage of?
Any details would be appreciated!!

Minimum height is 36” - anything smaller than this and they can’t go on any of the rides (except the playground). There are some rides that require a height of 42”. When we went, my daughter was only 38” so she couldn’t go on everything but there were still plenty of rides for her!
