My friends and I loved Susan's Farm. The grounds are beautiful with lots of activities. We went swimming in the swimming hole, explored some of the trails, and went kayaking. We also had lunch in one of the picnic areas. Plenty to do - we spent the whole day in the farm and will surely be back. The owners and all the staff are super friendly.

Lovely spot for kayaking. The small lake is manageable and pretty. There are many birds and turtles around. A kayak rental gives you access to the rest of the property for walks, picnicking and swimming.

I was here this past weekend with my family and friends. I have a weekend home near Halcottsville, and had heard good things about the walking trails near Susan's Pleasant Pheasant Farm, but I just recently learned they have kayaks for rent. My group was up for an adventure, but none of us had kayaked before, and we had varying levels of strength and age. What was the verdict? We all LOVED IT!!!! We thought we would just try it for an hour, but we were out for 3 hours!!!
The staff is very nice and patient, and they talk to you and prepare you for your adventure, and it is completely safe - everyone gets a life jacket, and it is explained to you how and where to row. You feel like you are one with your kayak - it is lightweight and very responsive to your movements. And how beautiful are the surroundings???? Wow! We saw a heron, a beaver dam, jumping fish, and might I also mention we also found some peace and serenity?
Highly highly recommend. We will be coming back. Wear sunscreen and sunglasses if you know the sun will be out that day.

My first time for kayak and this was the perfect place for doing it! Amazing lake and great service! I really enjoyed it! And I hope to be able to come back one day!!!!

This was my second time here and I could honestly say I'd come back again and again. My boyfriend and I were visiting friends in the Catskills for the weekend and wanted an adventure in the mountains as well as to be near water as well. This place sincerely met all the marks!
We went Kayaking but, Susan's Pleasant Pheasant Farm offers much more. There is biking available and fantastic hiking trails, a super quaint B&B and plenty of wildlife to observe.
I don't typically leave reviews but had to based on the sweet, kind, warm hospitality of the staff. They are truly great people- making the experience that much better!

We organized a group kayaking adventure for a group of friends up from New York City, a couple of whom had never been kayaking before. A serene lake, gorgeous scenery, quality gear, friendly staff -- and no time limit to enjoy all of it! We were only able to be out for an hour, but everyone wished we'd had more time on the water.We saw families of all ages out paddling that day. Highly recommended for any visit to the Catskills!

I don't usually write reviews, but I think that Susan's Pleasant Pheasant Farm deserves one. A true hidden gem in the heart of the Catskills, Susan's Kayaks is a must go-to adventure for groups of all ages! The staff are very accommodating and gracious people.
Aside from kayaking, they even have bike rentals, and hiking trails to cleanse any palate. If you're in the area, you have to stop by and check them out-it wouldn't be a true Catskills journey without experiencing all that they have to offer.

The owners of this lake are the most gracious people you'll ever meet! I've been here 3 times and there are always plenty of kayaks available. There isn't a time restriction so you can enjoy the beautiful scenery at your own pace. They also have paddle boats, canoes, and hammocks- it's just a nice relaxing time. On my past visit, I brought my 12 year old nephews and they had a blast!

We had a great time kayaking and seeing some wildlife. We saw a bald eagle, a blue heron, tadpoles, and many other birds while we were on the water. The kayaks were comfortable. We'll be back if we are ever in the area again.
