Hi- I've noticed that in most venues here on LI, the concert seems secondary. I've been to concerts at Forest Hills, Westbury, Jones Beach, The Place, etc.. everywhere it seems people are ordering food, drinks, becoming obnoxious etc during the show, while some of us are trying to hear the concert we came to hear. I left LI for over 35yrs in the 70's, have been back almost 6 yrs, and am appalled at the behavior. Same thing occurs in movie theatres. And in typical arrogant LI'er fashion, asking them to quiet down either leads to a threat of a brawl or alot of antagonistic rude comments. Its the same on the LIRR. Unfortunately I cannot move away from LI due to family circumstances. It sux, and I don't see LI'ers ever acknowledging that their behavior is obnoxious. On the contrary- they usually spin it so that youre the one at fault. Venue managers are mum because apparently they are dependent on the rude boisterous crowd to provide $$.
