This town needs his soul back. Bazaar too because here is original Arab culture and architecture. Very sad about bazaar in Massawa

Best photography place in Eritrea

As an amateur photographer I just loved this square. One cannot miss it: From the Dahlak Hotel cross the bridge and just walk straight!

The building with the arches is so picture perfect! And with a super wide angle lens you can take a three arches shot 50 meter ahead of the square. After sunset I experienced a very safe and friendly atmosphere. When you stroll around the neighbourhood around this square in the last light of the day, many people will offer you coffee. Highly recommended!

Amazing Turkish Architecture

One can make out how beautiful Massawa would be in its glorious days. The entire old city is built with Turkish influence which you can witness by looking at the ruins of the old buildings. There are building where you can clearly spot bullet marks and big holes of missile attacks by Ethiopian Air force. A tour to the old town would take about an hour and is a must thing to do in Massawa.

Come tutta la parte vecchia di Massawa ci sarebbe bisogno di una grande opera di ristrutturazione. Le case, siano esse importanti o umili, cadono a pezzi. I vicoli raccontano o vorrebbero raccontare storie antiche ma sono ormai poco frequentati. Il mercato della frutta e verdura è praticamente abbandonato. Che tristezza ma quanto fascino
