I attended an important opening/fundraiser at this gallery. I gave the gallery director $150 deposit to hold a painting. When I returned to the gallery I had changed my mind about acquiring the work. The director, Frank (no last names please) would not refund my $150. He said I took too long to return to the gallery. I took a long time because of serious health set backs including a devastating case of Shingles. This gallery cannot be trusted to find work you put on reserve or to refund your money in keeping with standard art gallery policies. I truly feel sorry for the artists who choose to display their work at Longyear Gallery. Clearly this enterprise falls short of the standards of business practices that the Better Business Bureau of the local Chamber of Commerce would approve. Art is hard enough to sell. When your gallery sabotages the good will of actual art patrons, it is a sad day for all concerned.
