My sister and I had lunch at the Community Table and it was amazing!!! The food was expertly prepared and conceived. The team at the farm and restaurant certainly succeeded in their objectives, to serve memorable meals while being good stewards of the earth . Matter of fact, I think the love was the extra sauce that made our meal such a joyful experience!!!

A superb place to see and hear how organic farming and care for heritage can really make a difference for the environment and our health.
And great to get out into the beautiful countryside along the Hudson if staying in NYC.

First of all!! I want to Thank you to Brian who's showed us tour with amazing information! You've gotta go there! We're there this past Wednesday the 2nd of October 2019. I wanted to find out what;s behind this amazing farm . Luckily there was a tour on Wed and Friday .. .Their most extensive tour is a behind-the-scenes view of Stone Barns with one of their farm or program staff. Stroll through the greenhouse and planting fields
If you truly love nature, you will find beauty on this farm!! Feel appreciated them!
I was amazed the size of farm land, Quite impressed how they're working for farming for the future .. I was so pleased to be there and animals are seemed so happy and healthy! I know it;s a lots of work for farming along with taking care animals ..
You've gotta walk to see them because they are not really in caged, I am sure in the winter they might be inside the barn.
We've walked a lot then ran into GOATS colony :):) It was a amazing! then saw a huge cow and sheep..We're look forward to go back there.
Unfortunalty we can't afforded to have meals at Blue hill restaurant LOL but we've had sandwiches at cafe ,, It was delicious,,
Anyway my advise is Take a tour and see how wonderful they are! How delighted to be there! You'd enjoy and blessed with the nature!

As we drove onto this pastoral setting, with the stone barns up ahead there were families with children, couples young and old, and numerous individuals exploring, walking about, relaxing, taking small farm tours, and just plain enjoying the bucolic setting. The goats were quite the attraction! We took a tour through the gardens, explored the greenhouse, then browsed the store, and had a bite to eat for lunch at the cafe. Such a lovely spot to spend an afternoon!

We went for a 90 tour. The buildings and history are amazing, and what they do here is inspiring. Oh for the world to be sustainable and delicious. It was great learning experience. And the cafe had some great sandwiches, cookies and coffee!

This is a nice way to spend part of the day...always seems to be things going on and children love to watch the animals.
The stone barns are gorgeous and the little cafe has good food at reasonable pricing with a nice outdoor spot to eat in. There is also a store that sells goods raised at the center along with other interesting items.
There are also lots of paths that take you on easy walks around the farm, but also connect into the Rockefeller Preserve which is really nice.
We did not take the tour...sort of wish we had, but enjoyed our time all the same.
Only downside to us was the feeling that the place always seems to have it's hand in your pocket. You have to pay to get in...I guess for parking and everything else is fee based in addition. Maybe that was just our experience the time we went, but it did detract from our overall enjoyment. Our children, not dealing with it, had a great time and would happily go back.

We booked the 11am tour of Stone Barns and had a wonderful time.
Erica was our tour guide. She was incredibly knowledgeable and articulate and her passion for what the Center is all about was a pleasure to see. The grounds and buildings were beautiful, the animals and crops and other assorted flora and fauna were all amazing and obviously lovingly tended and cared for. We had a light snack from the Cafe after our tour and the food was wonderful. Can't wait to go back and spend more time there.
Side Note: we visited on June 1st and there was no entry fee as other reviewers have mentioned. New policy maybe? Hopefully so, as it would be a shame for people not to go there because of a steep price to get in...

Everything grown or animals reared feature in the farm to table restaurant, but the grounds, cafe and shop are open to day visitors with a fee to access
The cafe is in a barn type building. Self service of a variety of salads and other small food offerings with hot and cold drinks
Lots for a family with young kids to see with a schedule of things to watch or do throughout the day
On a sunny day, a great location in Tarrytown Rockefeller land, to explore and enjoy for a few hours
